The location was great. Bathrooms had mould in the bathrooms. The walls were so thin that you could hear everything happening outside our room. If someone made a drink in the reception area and stirred the cup, we could hear the spoon clink against the cup. We spent our whole stay whispering, as the hotel is covered in “silence” notices.

ECCELSO hotel proved to be an good choice and a great find for us. It was clean, modern, very well air-conditioned during the 97-degree heat in Rome, within our price range, and wonderfully located in close proximity of St. Peter, the Vatican museums, Castel Sant'Angelo, many great shops and restaurants, and convenient transportation (including a taxi stand within two blocks). However, the greatest asset proved to be the co-owner and staff of Eccelso. They were always available, accessible, warm, friendly, happy to offer great restaurant recommendations or make ticket arrangements for us. They all spoke excellent English. At the end of our trip, when unfortunately, we had to stay in Rome for five extra days (my husband's passport was stolen on the metro), they were very understanding, flexible, and compassionate and extended our stay. Excellent hotel experience.
