My feeling on this hotel is that it has to be taken for its pros and cons. It is very reasonably priced when compared to other Rome hotels who charge a lot more. You are likely considering this hotel due to price or recommendation, so, is it nice? Yes, it’s nice. It is in a fantastic location with bustling shops and restaurants literally seconds away. It is old, however, and the hotel and rooms are small. That said, many Italian hotel rooms are the same - do not expect large rooms like in some other countries. I liked the breakfast which was nice, I would say Continental style, and the staff are all kind. However, it is literally opposite a large building being renovated and the early morning drilling on weekdays is extremely loud. This is in addition to noise from other rooms, as the hotel walls and ceilings are not thick. Bring ear plugs if you are noise sensitive. Air con was good and powerful (too cold even maybe!) but that is helpful when it’s 35-39C outside. Only issues encountered were the wrong room type allocated on arrival, with check in saying they were not aware of my room preference (twin vs double). This was not correct, I had email confirmation from the hotel that the twin would be allocated, from a named employee, they just did not add this to our booking. It was quickly sorted. Finally, I also found something unusual in the window frame when I opened the bathroom window to ventilate it after showering. The item, from a previous guest, was removed.
