Initial communication was great and we received a friendly welcome when we checked into The Wave Hotel next door and picked up the keys to the apartment at The Hibiscus. When you enter the room the immediate stretch of damp was not so welcoming. The place is tired, fine. It’s not luxurious, OK, you get what you pay for. But the place was a dump and the bathroom is out of a horror movie. Location is top draw though. Park up, go find a bar and maybe sleep on the beach. Not worth the money.

Lovely room and friend and welcoming staff. However, I was woken up very early each morning by the sound of the bin collectors outside. Request a quiet room away. Also you can hear loudly the sounds of other doors closing. However, it is a great location and close to everything.

We were so surprised by this lovely boutique motel. Attention and care has been placed on the rooms to make them an enjoyable place to be. The decor was lovely. The room was bright and had a proper little kitchen & dining table. All the staff we met were really friendly. We would just suggest taking Earplugs if you're noise sensitive due to nearby traffic noise. We highly recommend this motel and if we pass through Ballina again we'd definitely go back.

We have stayed here many times, close to Main shopping area and right on the river. The place seems to have had a mini makeover which was nice. The Saltbush bar and restaurant are fabulous and we had an amazing seafood platter. Nice wine list too! Easy on site parking too.
