Very Good

We stayed here last November and returned in May but probably wont come back again. No atmosphere, bar closed at 11 on a Friday Poor breakfast selection. No continental choice ( 1 type of meat / cheese).
Rothesay was a revelation. We were put off by the ferry access on our upward journey but shouldn't have been. The hotel has wonderful views and is situated within easy walking distance along a promenade of interesting victorian hotels/apartments to a vibrant town centre. we were very lucky with the weather and loved everything about the hotel and the town.

Old style charm. Great view of Loch and sunset from front deck.
Beautiful building (must be a nightmare to maintain) but a bit shabby in some areas. Unsurprising but need to be honest in the review. Staff were brilliant and had a great stay, would recommend.
Enjoyed our stay. Surprised there was no porridge or pastries ( croissants ) for breakfast but plenty of choice and everything was piping hot. A wee bit of entertainment at night would have been nice, but overall a great few days here. Would definitely recommend The Glenburn Hotel.
A very enjoyable stay. All the staff were cheerful and helpful from reception to waiters and waitresses. Very impressed with staff in restaurant checking temperature of cooked breakfast to ensure safe. Never seen that before.
We booked a twin ensuite room at this hotel. The room was clean and the beds a good size. Our ensuite was accessed via three stairs. The bathroom facilities were basic but clean.
We ate our evening meal in the hotel bar area (same food as dining room). The food was attractively presented and delicious. Reasonably priced. Service was good.
Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice
A truly marvellous stay at The Glenburn. We had a great nights sleep with a brilliant Scottish breakfast!! Hotel is amazing from the tartan carpets down to the splendour of the views from the terrace. Staff were friendly and happy to accommodate early arrivals with welcome tea and coffee. Whilst the hotel was a little dated in parts, I thought this added to the old school Scottish charm.I shall be staying here again!!
Pros - Large hotel with character, comfy bed, good bedsheets & duvet, very warm radiators, friendly check in. Also very cheap for when we booked so pretty happy with the cost.
Cons - very worn fittings, carpets, furniture. There were multiple stains on our bedroom carpet, stains on the bedframe. The shower was really old, water wasn’t that warm. Short of fitting a new carpet and new bed there wasn’t really a solution so didn’t complain but the whole place needs some money put into it for sure.
