The cabin was fairly clean. The floors in the bathroom area needed a good mopping. The two burner stove top didn't work at all. We could smell propane really bad the first night we were there. Someone had left the gas grill on all night. But the lady when I checked in was super nice.

Gem in Ruidoso
What an incredible little place here in Ruidoso. Clean, comfortable, and the owners are fantastic. I am here for business and extended my 2 week stay into a month because of the quality of this place and the people who run it. From the little personal touches that are beyond what most places offer, to the ambiance of the grounds, I would recommend this to any traveler whether you’re staying for one night or an extended period. 5 stars with no reluctance.
Not uncommon to see deer on or around the cabin grounds. Hummingbirds and others are plentiful making this place all the more peaceful.

Long weekend getaway
Another great stay at shadow mountain lodge, we stay here every time we come to Ruidoso. Staff is always friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We love to hang out on the porch and enjoy the setting and wildlife, so relaxing and beautiful.

What a wonderful visit we had again at Shadow Mountain Lodge. The cabin, with all the amenities was just what we needed. And we took advantage of everything, from the bbq grill, the fire pit, to the laundry.  I borrowed (and returned!) a book and a puzzle, had multiple wildlife encounters, walked with our pup through the neighborhood, and enjoyed the peace and serenity on our front porch.  Not embarrassed to say, I got choked up when we left.  We will visit again soon. Thank you for a truly fantastic experience. Your hospitality is 10 out of 10.
