My husband and I stayed at the Amigo Motor Lodge last weekend and had a mostly pleasant experience. We loved that it’s pet-friendly, and the decor was absolutely charming. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, which we appreciated. However, there were a few downsides: the bathroom fan was broken, the TV didn’t have channel access, and we found some trash left behind by previous guests. While we understand it’s a budget-friendly, 2-star motel and adjusted our expectations, these issues were a bit disappointing. On the positive side, the hot tub was a great bonus, and the ice-cold drinking water in the lobby was refreshing. Breakfast is minimal—grab-and-go options like muffins, granola bars, or oatmeal—but the coffee was fantastic! Overall, it’s a good value for the price, especially in the off-season.

Very nice place! We stayed in a vintage airstream trailer. Great, clean quiet, nice furnishings in line with the 1950’s theme. Close to town with coffee shops, restaurants, breweries within walking distance.

Great remodel of an older property. Love the modern touch. Room and property were great! However, a few items are starting to show some wear. (ie: shower faucet loose from wall, wiring track for tv falling off wall, dirty / stained blinds. Otherwise great place!

It looked like the owners really put efforts in making everywhere on the property Instagram worthy. It was a weird time of the year when we needed AC in the middle of the day but needed heat at night. The heater made sounds that made the whole unit shake once in a while. Other than that it was great place to stay with my pup.

The staff were very nice! Our airstream had a few problems. The TV connection didn't allow us to plug in our phone to access Streaming. The fridge froze our food and a couple of outlets didn't work. But, the bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels were clean. The shared bathrooms were clean and the free coffee was great!

Nice staff. Breakfast was a misnomer with juice, coffee and packaged muffins. Shower liner was covered in mold and room had a peculiar odor from whatever they used to clean it. It was worth a try, just not right for a couple in their 60’s.

The owners of the Amigo are obviously making an effort to make an old roadside motel hip and fun. We stayed in one of the Airstream trailers which are cute on the outside but have been stripped on the inside and are pretty basic for the price (no water, tiny analog TV monitor with no cable, bunks are not comfortable, but bed is fine). Staff was very friendly and they had good coffee in the morning. Shared bathrooms for Airstream units were very clean. Salida is an interesting town and a possible gateway to many areas of this part of Colorado. For the price I would probably opt for one of the regular motel rooms next time.

This place has a great vibe going. It is a retro motel with a modern update (kinda mid-century modern). Staff was super nice and landscaped grounds were a nice touch. Will stay again next time we are in Salida.
