Great location 100 meters from the beach. They have great rooms but the one we had was very small. Still love the place. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Charming Pousada
A charming Pousada very close to the lovely beach. Friendly staff and nice ambience
Nice friendly place with lovely staff.
Building is lovely and has great character!!
My room had a cute little balcony which I could see the ocean from, and watch everything going on in the street below.
Great location, I felt very safe here and would defiantly stay again.

Nice hotel
I have stayed there before and it continues to meet expectations. Not thrilled with lack of an eleavator but otherwise fine. There was aminor problem with the frig but it was quickly repaired. I would stay there again.
My wife and I just stayed here for two nights on New Year's Day (flying in after celebrating NYE in Rio on the Copacabana). Check in was smooth and Ulysses spoke good English. The hotel is a beautiful Colonial, with white details on blue pastel paint. The location was great, a block from Porto do Barra beach and we had a decent view of the sea from our balcony. The room was large with high ceilings and a newly renovated bathroom. All the usual amenities were available in the bathroom although our shower leaked a little. The owner owns the whole block to the sea and will recommend you to go to his restaurants, which is OK since they're fine restaurants. He and all the front desk guys spoke great English and were very informative and helpful, booking us transportation and helping with tours. They are currently doing construction on the main beach road so this hotel ended up being close to the only bus stop going north to Pelourinho for R$2.80 a person (10-15 minutes). It was a bit noisy on the street during the day (less at night), but fortunately the AC drowned out the sounds. The downside was that the AC in our room was very old and not very effective so we had to sleep with the ceiling fan on as well. There's a nice terrace on the roof with some lounge chairs and a hammock. The breakfast was simple, but had many fruit and freshly blended fruit juices, which made me quite happy. Would definitely recommend.
As a composite of atmosphere, service, and staff, the Pousada Manga Rosa clears a full rating. From the uber competent desk staff to the proprietor Ulysses, the team could arrange anything at a minutes notice, clearly having a firm grasp on operationalizing a tourists trip to maximize pleasure and comfort. Also, when speaking to others in the Barra, each knew Ulysses and held in high regard, making first impressions more personable.
