The River walk and all the downtown attraction were right out the front door. The breakfast buffet was great with a different variety of foods that represent San Antonio. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

Poor stay with a broken car window
My car was broke into when parked at valet. I understand these situations may occur, however the way management and valet handles things was very poorly. Don’t stay there if you expect exceptional service and a broken window for that matter.

Room smelled like mold unfortunately, the hvac was super loud and parking around the area was crazy expensive. The included breakfast was horrible, skip that for sure. Too expensive for what it was.

Great location, walking distance to the Alamo & River Walk, beautiful architecture, the most amazing staff! Shout out to Jasmine & Heather! Delicious free breakfast, comfortable beds, great amenities. Hotel Gibbs is truly a hidden gem! I will be exclusively staying here every time I visit San Antonio from now on.

Great stay
Gibbs hotel is really a great find. The value is exceptional. I never eat breakfast food in hotels, theirs was not that bad... I wish they had parking, as you have to spen another $45 on it, but other than that, I truly recommend Gibbs hotel for comfort, the surroundings, the friendly staff. I will definitely come back.

Old building with some issues....overall ok.
It is an older building and probably should have expected it to be a little musty. Windows are painted shut and ac was set to 72 degrees and seemed to be cooling ok, but the humidity/dampness was very high. At 3am we woke up to water dripping from the air return onto the hardwood floor. They moved us into a room down the hall which was even more humid which made the bedsheets feel cold and damp. Other than that, the breakfast was good and we could see the alamo out our window which was nice. Parking was $45 in the public lot next to the property. Front desk said if you left and came back to park you would get charged again...not sure if that was true because we only stayed 1 night and walked everywhere. They really tried to sell you on the valet which is also $45 per day, but I dont trust others with my vehicle so that was not an option for us. Just a reminder to think about parking costs before booking. Staff was nice and accomodating.

The property in nice and right in downtown so you can walk to near attractions. The bed was very comfortable. What i didn't like is that house keeping was not done one single day during my stay. I had to go to the front desk to request at least thw trash cans to be emptied. Breakfast was not as good as i read in some other comments. Potatoes seemed to be there for many days, no yogurt 2 out of the 3 days i stayed there. I won't recommend staying here.

Loudest construction noise ever! Bed is hard as a rock. Parking is valet os alot. The lot next to the building is a lot for 12 hours and more for additional 8hrs. There's only a shower and no bath tub. At least the room was clean. Also a clicking noise all night. You can't sleep at all.

Nice sized suites only problem was ac not functioning during the night and most of the day. spoke to front desk and staff said they would have maintenance the next morning to take a look after the ac after it failed all night and had to sleep without conditioning . Are car even took 45 min to get back from the valat had to wait in their hot lobby
