I want to start by saying this hotel experience is NOT the worst I have had! It was overall pretty fair for the price. Overall, for San Antonio, you get what you pay for. This hotel was close enough to downtown that you could easily walk, ride a scooter, or get a rideshare driver for pretty cheap. Having a parking garage to park in made me feel better about my vehicle sitting during our stay. It is convenient that it has hotel access through the door at the end of the main hall too. Just know that parking on the property is $15 tax per day. The area around the hotel did have some unsheltered individuals but paid us no attention. I felt pretty safe and the coffee shop up the street was delicious! As for the hotel room, we did have an issue with the faucet in the bathtub continuously dripping hot water, and had to keep that door shut so the room wouldn't get all steamy and humid. We also found an ant colony beginning in the corner of the shower near the ceiling. The bed was very firm and the pillows were quite small, but nothing that we couldn't stand. We stayed a total of four nights and during the day, we were out and about exploring, so we only stayed in the hotel when we were sleeping. Again, I have had much worse experiences at budget hotels. This one isn't bad, just some minor inconveniences.

Last time i stayed it was great! Found food in the fridge and in the dresser was a carton of cigarettes under the bed were dirty found empty soda bottle the floor wasn't mopped was sticky in an area by the dresser

I wasn't happy because when we checked in the room that they gave us the smoke alarm kept tripping. I went back to the front desk to report the problem and the receptionist told me that they are going to send someone to fix it. We decided to go out and have dinner. We were gone for 4 hrs. When we came back the smoke alarm was stoll not fixed. I'm so frustrated. I went back again to the information and talked to the receptionist and he told me that we have to be transferred to a different room. They changed our room and the room was stuffy & the bedsheets looked like someone just used it and the bathtub was dirty. I had to go back to the front desk and complain again. This is almost midnight. The receptionist had to transfer us in a different room. The last room is a little bit ok compared to the other rooms and I was exhausted so we just decided to stay overnight. This is the worst hotel we've stayed in. This is going to be our first and last staying in this hotel and are not coming back to this hotel.

Terrible!!

Please never stay here. I read some reviews and thought it would be a decent cheaper place to stay but this place was filthy and just straight up scary. There was blood on the inside seat of our toilet. It was soooo dusty. The inside of the drawers were so sticky and nasty we couldn’t put our clothes in there. We should have left but didn’t have the means to pay for another hotel. My husband was approached by a prostitute looking for “Adam”. When night hit I didn’t even want to leave the room because it was clear there were people selling drugs and some extremely shady things happening right there inside the hotel. We had to be there for a performance otherwise we would have drove home. Only positive was the bed was comfortable. But I wouldn’t stay here again under any circumstances.

We just needed a place for 1 night that was near I-35 so we could get to Austin early for a funeral the next day. It’s an older property, but it worked fine for our needs.

My family has stayed at the Red Roof several times over the years. We have always enjoyed our stays. The hotel no longer serves breakfast and the coffee that is offered is like drinking what Texas is known for....Oil! Our room was considered a premium room. The bathroom was really dirty, especially the bathtub and shower! And for 4 people they gave us 1 small tube of shampoo and 1 tiny bar of soap. Would I stay there again? Probably. The location is ideal for the price. Close to the Alamo, Riverwalk, and the downtown area in general. The front desk staff are pleasant and helpful. San Antonio is a great city to visit!!!

What I liked, was good customer service and amazing king size bedroom. What I didn’t like, were the noisy neighbors from partying all night. In the shower, the drain stopper got stuck and wouldn’t let the water go down while I was showering. Lastly, the room’s door knob wouldn’t open as I pushed downward. I was told later to pull upward and then the door opened. I believe it was room 621.

Although they are a pet friendly facility our floor had a dog barking nonstop during the afternoon and evening hours. They did offer to move us but another guest was being moved to our floor because she had no hot water. I feel this facility however was in violation of their pet policy. As this dog was disruptive to me as well as other guest complaining. I would not recommend this site to any one nor will I ever stay there again!!
