Bummed Out

I booked and specific (ocean View room) got a golf course and golf balls hitting the balcony and glass door , also said no hidden fees when I booked it and got there having to pay an additional $72 and the lady checking me in and the other lady checking me out didn't care at all wouldn't let me show them what I was talking about, just dismissed me. The beds are like sleeping on a brick, so we didn't get any sleep, then there's the carpet it turned all our feet black. The free breakfast was very nice, and the dining room was clean.

The hot tub has been out since April. The renovations are listed on the website but not completed. Not many options around hotel and only one elevator. Had to pay for parking. Lots of spider webs on balcony!!! and the inside stairwell! Staff was nice.

Disappointing experience at Hampton Inn San Clemente, No AC working in the room, and after canceling, no incentive was offered, but they had 3 fans upon arrival, they knew their AC was not working, don't know for how long but didn't bother to call me before arriving and making a decision. Frustrating to find no alternative room available after long distance and hours of driving. The hotel franchise needs to improve guest services for this situations.

Our room was a nice room at the end of the hall. We had a great, quiet view on the balcony overlooking the golf course. A little outdated but they’re beginning to update at the end of May they say. Comfy beds. Free breakfast was not great, premade omelet was a bit sponge like in consistency, oatmeal a bit watery. Coffee ok, toast & muffins are good. Overall a good place. Looking forward to their next phase of updates and refurbishing.

Black mold in the shower, I told the front desk about the black mold the morning of May 10,2025 , the lady told me they would take care of the mold, they told me there wasn’t another room available, when we returned back to the room in the evening of May 10, 2025 there was a strong smell of maybe cleaning fluid and paint ? The smell was so strong it made me sick ( asthma ) .

Charged 18.00 daily for outdoor parking. Woiuld not allow early checkin Initial room TV not working. No air flow. AC not working. Windows do not open. No ventilation. They were kind enough to give us a new room for the last night. They really should hab=ve offered us a partial refund.

I always go to the Hamptons in San Clemente, but was disappointed in the breakfast. It was a little messy and everything wasn’t full. You have to ask them to refill food. Also they don’t have decaf coffee anymore or nonfat milk.

Smelly, stinky hotel

The checking in qas easy, guy qas friendly. But the room was horrible. Elevator smelled like smoke, hall ways smell like dirty carpet, room was stinky like dirty socks and the bed smelll like peee, shets were clean, but mattress smell like pee so bad. Horrible experience.

The person at the front desk kept disappearing in the back, leaving me waiting. Not sure what was going on there. The hot tub was broken. One of the two TVs in our room didn't work. The TVs are old school. You can't stream from your computer. All they had was regular TV. They charged $20 per car for parking. WHY? Isn't the parking lot put there so you can stay at their hotel? Make sure you check to see if parking is included when looking for the best price.

The hotel is centrally located in San Clemente, but that's about it. Very noisy from the highway traffic, the rooms are very dated and need gutting. It's expensive for what you get and the location. The staff was mostly friendly.
