It’s a drive in motel. Shocked Wyndham would have a property like this. Everything outdated (shower, furniture,), bed and pillows uncomfortable, etc. We also arrived from our flight at 1am - the attendant unlocked check in area after a few minutes (not a great part of town) and put us in a room adjacent to the breakfast room that opens at 6:30am and becomes very loud. Do not recommend this place to anyone, it should be $50 a night not typically $200 . Plenty of much nicer options in San Diego at a similar price point.

Family weekend vacation
Me and my parents came to San Diego for a weekend trip to celebrate my birthday together. Great location for the price , everything was just a few blocks away. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable!

Unlocked room, maintenance unavailable, etc.
I came for a business trip and did not have a pleasant time. The room did not lock from the outside and was notified - they asked if we wanted a refund to relocate to a different hotel as maintenance wasn't available nor was another room available. How does it make sense for me to find another room at night last minute? We left our belongings at the front desk to be safe while we had our dinner and when we came back, they asked if we wanted a discount for the stay since we'd be staying in a unlockable room. Note that it did lock from the inside but since we were on a business trip, we had to be in and out of the hotel, with all our computer and other belongings left alone unattended in an unlocked room. Their overall attitude did not help the situation either, they didn't seem willing to really help the situation. We were very disappointed with our stay to say the least.

We stayed here for two nights while going to the San Diego zoo overall it was a great stay and very convenient for us . Parking was annoying $19 a day but probably the cheapest , also ALOT of homeless near the area but that’s expected in downtown SD

Would not recommend! One day they took all our towels but one and only made one bed. Had to ask twice for more towels. The next day we were just getting up when housekeeping came so I asked them to come back and they never did. The lights flickered, the tap water smelt like sulfur, the carpet was filthy (I guess that’s why it’s dark brown), the freezer froze our food, it was fine for the first 3 days then frozen the next, there was no offer to compensate the loss at check out (only about $10)

The staff is excellent: cordial, friendly, helpful. The breakfast provided is much better than expected with lots of variety. This is a much better breakfast than that offered by other hotels I've stayed at. The kitchen staff was especially attentive. I stayed at this property during 2024 Comic-Con. My only complaint was the price: $550/night. Normally the price is around $120/night. All the hotels in the downtown San Diego area jack up their prices during Comic-Con, so I don't want to single out the Wyndham Baymont. High SD downtown hotel prices could well be the demise of continued San Diego venue for Comic-Con.

Mattress for the baby's crib looked like a horror movie. Abysmal. Squeaky floors. Holes in the curtains. Standing water in the tub after showers (head almost touched the ceiling in the shower and I'm 5'11"). Tv stand almost touched the foot of the bed (did touch If you opened the drawers). Parking garage didn't have card access so you had to push a button and be let in even on foot. 550 dollars a night during comic con. A disgraceful price gouge not worth the value at all. Horrid. Everyone should be ashamed of themselves.
