A lot of traffic noise can be heard inside rooms, doors closing echos loudly in room as well. So not great if you are a light sleeper. Room was nice and clean, and staff was friendly.

The Garden Inn was centrally located between LA and San Diego. It is near both a hospital and a mini-shopping plaza with diverse restaurants. Do not bother with the breakfasts - the buffet is expensive for what it offers, and the a-la-carte options vary widely in quality: the 3-egg omelette was quite good, but the French toast was so bad, my wife stopped eating after the first two bites. You can do better elsewhere within a short car ride or modest walk. The amenities were good. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful.

Staff including the manager was very unprofessional and rude. I understand they have rules and jobs to do but I am not a difficult person and I consider myself a polite person. We had a couple of issues checking in and both were my fault BUT the staff did not seem to want to be bothered with our trying to figure out a solution and when we were turned away as we were walking away we could clearly hear them snickering and when I turned they tried to cover their faces. We were outside and finally figured out a solution we were embarrassed to go back in to complete the transaction but we had already paid for the room in full and had an extremely important dr. appointment for myself in the early morning which is why we were staying there and we would have had to sleep in our vehicle or travelled the 2 hours to go back home at 9pm then 2 hours to return for my appointment at 4 am to get there on time. I understand this is a business transaction but instead of back handed insults and blatant disrespect the staff should at very least been respectful and helpful. I’m sure nothing will come of this because I figure if the people representing the business are uncaring then the people above are probably not going to care either but I am to tired and sick to go in to too much situational detail and all I can say is it was a VERY bad day for me as an extremely ill disabled cancer patient who had only been released from the hospital about two and a half hours before.
