I booked a King room with a Coronado view at the Hilton San Diego a month ahead for Memorial Day weekend, but was told at check-in (11 PM!) that my room was no longer available. This was incredibly disappointing—especially from a Hilton. They offered a $60 food & beverage credit, but by that time, only the bar was open, and we had no time to use it the next day due to our travel plans. To make things worse, we were given a room with a depressing industrial view instead of the one we reserved. If the room type had to be changed, the least they could’ve done was honor the original view. I’m not blaming the staff—they were kind and tried their best—but Hilton’s reservation system is clearly unreliable. If you book here, know that you might not get the room you paid for. I won’t be staying at Hilton again.

Staff and property was nice, was put on lower floor next to the elevator with no balcony though so will be more thorough checking in next time. Water refill stations could be better directed and on all floors.
