The front desk staff were amazing. The room smelled like mold and the heater made a lot of noise and leaked water onto the balcony. The restaurant waitress and hostess were not very friendly. The view and the pool/ hot tub were amazing and the location was also very good and pretty views.

The restaurant Vessel was exceptional! Great chef made a special request. The atmosphere was amazing inside & outside seating overlooking the large marina. The property had water on both sides. In front side there was grass & walkways. Other side had beach , pools and cabanas for big groups to enjoy.

Hotel good, restaurant not so much.
Hotel was nice and comfortable. Would have been nice to be offered choice of building as being far from the amenities was awkward for me. Restaurant let us down - problems with breakfast (eggs were badly done, by the time they were recooked, rest of breakfast was cold). Offered a vague promise of discount at dinner, which we accepted. It was a 20% discount which was nice, but the menu was very limited and we didn't really like any of the items on offer that much.

Lots to see and do at Kona Kai. Beautiful location at the end of Shelter Island. 20 minute walk 20 Humphries by the Bay, where we attended live, outdoor concerts. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean and safe.
