Starting with the good, the location is outstanding. It is right in the Gaslight district with tons of great dining opportunities within a 10-minute walk radius. Now for the not-so-good: Given the price, the hotel is overrated. Our room was so small there was barely enough room to move around the beds. The tub faucet was leaky. Room service was every other day. The windows opened on a hallway. And then, to make things worse, we had a fire alarm at 2:30 one morning because the night staff burned something in the microwave. The hotel charges the same price as the Convention Center Marriott. For that price, I expected much better amenities.

The hotel was super cute and for each day you stay you can choose a free drink/snack/beer! lol if you book here the best parking spot is at the structure down the street which was like $15 a night. Everywhere else parking was so pricey! I would call ahead to see what’s up with parking!

The hotel was extremely clean and staff accommodated my request of early check in. No.issues with staff or cleanliness..my only issue is a business center or computer lounge would have been nice to utilize.

Convenient near San Diego Convention Center
Staypineapple, Hotel Z is conveniently located, with may restaurants nearby and about a 10-min walk to the San Diego Convention Center. I stayed two nights and service to the room is only after the second night, so I did not experience it. My room was small, especially considering that part of the square footage was a non-useful entryway. The wifi worked well, but the desk was very small and crowded with coffee maker, etc. The bathroom was large and well-equipped..

We wanted to try something different during our stay in San Diego and decided to give this place a try based on all the positive reviews. However, we felt it was mostly hype and we probably would have been more comfortable elsewhere (of the regular hotel chains). Pros: - You can use the hotel bikes to sightsee around town. - friendly staff and nice lobby area - nice bedding and comfy bed - centrally located in the downtown area Cons: - no parking. You can park in nearby public parking lots but it’s an issue as some days can be really busy and hard to find parking. - loud. We could hear all the noise in the hallway in our room, this disturbed our sleep. People came and went at different times and carrying normal conversations and it was audible in the room. It woke me up a few times. - small rooms. We had the king size bed and the room felt crammed.

Front desk woman was very short and barely made eye contact while talking to me. Had a very "fake smile" while interacting with me. She has long, straight black hair. On another note, there was no iron and ironing board, no microwave, and no mini fridge in the room. Complete inconvenient! Not to mention on top of not having complimentary breakfast. This place definitely wants you to starve and have wrinkled clothes!

Loved our stay. The remote-control unit that operated the left-hand side blinds didn't work so sun was coming in a 630am. We couldn't close the curtain. That was a pain in the butt. But loved the hotel, the staff were very friendly. i would recommend it to friends.
