Haunted but lovely!

The Horton Grand is perfectly located in the Gaslamp district to easily walk all over. Restaurants of all types, bars, Petco Park, the harbour, Little Italy, the cathedral, all places we walked to from the hotel. Great city, friendly people, strong restaurant and bar scene. The hotel is a historic one with a very interesting story and super pretty architecture. They say it's haunted but we had a spook free visit! Can't wait to go back!

Fun time in gas lamp

Room was nice and clean a little small and no frig but comfortable. Great location if attending a baseball game or just going to the gas lamp area of san diego. well within walking distance to a lot of places.

My stay at the historic Horton Grand in San Diego was unmatched in excellence. Located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, it is an easy walk to Petco Park, the Children's Museum, the USS Midway, and many dining and nightlife options. It is staffed by very friendly and helpful people who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our room was in the fourth floor and overlooked the courtyard whose trees were illuminated nightly. This hotel includes many antique furnishings, including pianos, organs, and divans from the nineteenth century in the lounge areas on each floor. Many famous people have stayed and even lived there, such as Wyatt Earp, Tom Mix, and Jackie Coogan, to say nothing of modern times. The best part is that the building is haunted! Eyewitnesses have testified that they have seen apparitions descending the ancient wooden balustraded staircases, and a room on the third floor is said to house its own ghost! While walking around the building we felt the presence of otherworldly beings and are excited to go back and hopefully make contact. 10/10 would stay again!

Excellent value- all around

Very pleasant one night stay while attending a Padres game. Easy, safe walk to stadium. Many restaurants and bars in immediate area so tough to beat the location. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Excellent service from front desk, valet, and wait staff in restaurant. Overall, great value.

I like the room, we stayed in a suite and the space was amazing. The balcony was not impressive, as ours faced another building that was very close to our location and didn’t offer anything special besides looking at a crummy block wall. Service and people were super nice!
