Very Good

We loved the property, but unfortunately it was located next to a half way house of soom sort. So it was very noisy at night. Staff, accommadations, and overall vintage feel was awesome. Maybe a little more upgrades in rooms, but that didn't bother us for the price.
Checkin process was slow. Paper copies of everything. Rooms were comfortable but warm. Windows had been left open by staff to allow ventilation but too noisy with ambulance and sirens sounds. After closing windows sound improved but was warm in room. Main floor breakfast (complimentary) included flavored yogurt, muffins, apples and granola bars! Not much to a breakfast but more of a snack bar. Neighborhood feels unsafe with graffiti and homeless people all around.
We couldn’t even check in our experience was so bad. Location felt unsafe from the beginning. We waited for valley for 15 minutes I went in and was told to go out and someone should be there. The lobby looked dingy and smelled. Even so I sat in my care with my young kids and senior parents about 15 minutes and we decided to just leave. It was awful.
A beautiful old building with lovely touches such as breakfast included and wine and cheese in the evening. Overall a good location however if you walk a couple of blocks in the wrong direction you wind up in the Tenderloin neighbourhood which isn’t the nicest part of San Francisco. Don’t miss dining at the izakaya across the street, it’s excellent.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
I liked the vintage appeal of the property and the spacious rooms. The staff was friendly as well. However, the area around the hotel felt very unsafe, lots of homeless (more than other areas of the city), the tv was fuzzy, outlets didn’t work, and the beds were uncomfortable.
The staff when checking in, this older Asian lady, she was so rude and passive aggressive. When I got there and said hi I would like to check it, she gave me such a sarcastic smile and fake “Absolutely!” And then rolled her eyes. I have two dogs with me, and the hotel said pet friendly. I’ve never had to call ahead of time to let a hotel know if that’s how it’s advertised. Instead of kindly letting me know they’d appreciate if I put that in the notes, she lectured me about my dogs and how I should’ve known better and how I was inconveniencing her. Then she gave me a piece of paper with information on who was staying with me and the names of my dogs. My husbands name is Cuong and she asked me if that was a real name and was suggesting I spelt it wrong ? I couldn’t believe how she was treating me. At this point I was so shocked and I felt I couldn’t give her the attitude she deserved because she might’ve turned me away. Never coming back.
