Great spot

great spot. would be walkable to any where if SF wasnt a collection of hills. cheap uber ride away from the wharf, china town, coit tower, and the coolest indie book store that will give you the eye if you ask for the hunger games....or any other "main stream" book.

A gem!

A little gem in the city! I'd keep this one to myself but it's too good not to share. Free parking in SF, ultra clean, a block from dining and stores, amazing shower, comfy beds. It is definitely for those who will spend most of the time sightseeing but still want a safe and comfortable place to recharge. It can be noisy but cities are noisy. If you're on a lower budget, stay here. Save money for experiencing the city.

The Castle Inn was wonderful! This was my family’s first time visiting San Francisco, so I did a lot of research on walkable, convenient areas to stay in—and this inn hit all the marks. It’s right next to Polk street, a quaint and cozy area with tons of restaurants and shops. The manager was extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and holding our bags before check in and after check out. We highly recommend this inn and will stay here in the future.

Nice older place, clean but the carpets are dated and the parking is tight for an SUV. Lots of places to eat around the hotel. Felt safe walking around at night.
