I really wanted to love this hotel. After all the great ratings I thought this would be a pleasant stay.
Unfortunately, I think I experienced the less delightful parts of Hotel Zoe.
First, my room was on the first floor just around the corner from their conference rooms and hotel lobby bathroom. I heard many people going by my room which was loud and took away from any charm my room had. In addition, as a woman traveling solo, I prefer not to be on a first floor and was surprised there were rooms there at all.
I called to request a change but they were sold out so could not move me. (Understandably.)
Second, my room was unusually small (but clean). My window, which didn’t open, looked right out to a cement wall and a radiator.
I understand the hotel was sold out but I think Hotel Zoe should consider no longer using these rooms for guests (at least that room) as it degrades the overall experience that the hotel strives to offer.
The staff did what they could but were a bit overwhelmed with a few large group check ins (20 person flight crew for example). It would have been helpful for them to add more front desk staff as it looked like one woman was doing her best to handle everything (graciously) and the line for check in/check out was growing.
Location very convenient, easy walking to the piers. Their restaurant was very good, and the cocktails excellent. I loved the $15 restaurant credit. But even with all the pluses, I’ll try another hotel next visit.
