The front desk and bell staff was amazing, super friendly and helpful! But upon getting to our room it looked a bit dated but that was fine, it has a nice charm. The down side to it was that the AC seems to also be dated, it would turn on and off and seemed to dry the air a lot more than normal and it was positioned to point at the beds which made us a bit sick all 4 of us, bed was too soft. They had the alarm system pretty much right above the bed so if your a light sleeper, the red blinking light will bother you. My toddler had trouble sleeping every night as well since he was itchy on the bed. Didn’t seem like bed bugs but something definitely made him itch. Probably the worst sleep we’ve ever had traveling. A renovation is definitely needed for the rooms.

Amazing hotel just be prepared to hike Mount Everest to get to it ! We made the mistake of thinking it’s a walkable distance from bart and God that was a mistake ! Do yourself a favor ! Uber to the hotel ! Don’t be brave and walk up the hill lol

Really enjoyed the hotel itself. Lots of history. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The location is perfect in so many ways. The trolley has a stop directly in front of the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown SF, the hotel draws you in with its impressive architecture and interiors with valet service and bellmen ready to receive you at the doors. We loved our walk to the room through the beautiful entrance hall, and were charged by the downtown view. We got a great deal on the room, but were disappointed at the exorbitant overnight parking charges ($87/day). My overall experience was soured by their rather inefficient and broken valet parking system where after I sent a text message for my car as per their instruction and waited a good 20 minutes (yes, they expect you to give them 20 mins notice to get a car), before asking for some help on the matter. At this point, the guy looks at my valet ticket, seems to make a phone call and then asks me to "wait 20 mins" for my car (in addition the already passed 20 mins). I stick around for another 15 mins before complaining to another employee about this to finally receive my car 50 minutes after I sent the original text. The bathtub leaked as well.

I recently stayed at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins for a work trip, and my stay was absolutely wonderful. From check-in to check-out, they took such great care. I was able to upgrade to a suite, which was large and very comfortable. All of the staff -- especially Rick, Sal and Al, were tremendously helpful with all my event items. The only negative is the state of the Top of The Mark. It's such an iconic venue with wonderful views, but needs to be cleaned and refurbished.
