So, this is an honest review. I was curious about the hotel b/c the pictures of rooms honestly looked good, but I also read some of the reviews. Decided to book it anyhow.

1st comment mirrors others made: this is a suspicious area for those not familiar with The Tenderloin (I was). Sadly, some blocks that lead to the hotel are busy with homeless and transient types. Not horrible, just unsightly at times. It can get a little noisy (depending on where you're facing) if you're a light sleeper, but not horrible. That said, room was great, large, bright, clean, linoleum *wood* flooring, clean shower. My only real complaint was no fridge, so not storing food (fruits, yogurt, drinks) was a bummer since leaving for food was tiresome (I don't do food deliveries). The desk wasn't amazing, but was fine. Would I recommend it? It depends on your tolerance for *funny* areas. I would not take kids with me. Would I stay there again? Yes! Affordable and I was there 1 week. The nice front desk lady let me pick my room when I checked in. I was honestly pleasantly surprised. I walked everywhere but did take the bus twice which dropped me off IN FRONT of the hotel. Summary: is it a clean hotel? Yes. Is it adjacent to some unsightly blocks? Yes. But TBH, this is a SF issue (a very sad one). Hope this helped!
