Linens and room were clean but run down. Rust on lamps, bathroom door had loose hinges so didn’t close well, room door needed weather stripping so light and air came in. There was very minimal parking that was first come, first serve. We were able to get a spot but definitely don’t count on it. The area was fine, easy to get the bus to destinations, very walkable.

We had to wait 1 hour for our room to be clean after check in and we had wood paneling loose on the floor and the sink was clogged terrible place

I drove from San Diego to San Francisco after booking a ADA room at this hotel. I drove 10 hours and when I got there they didn’t have a room that would accommodate my wife. She is the reason I asked for an ADA room because she is a right leg amputee and travels with an electric scooter! I was so angry because I contacted Expedia and they were not able to help me either. The hotel refunded my deposit but I had to book a different room at the last minute and paid $300 more for that room. If you book a room at Surf Motel call them and speak to someone to make sure you get the too you ask for.

There is a good opportunity for The Surf Motel to be a diamond in the rough, but it needs a serious deep clean: walls, corners, ceilings, etc! I can tell the housekeepers clean as there was a strong odor of bleach in the room. B there is more to cleanliness than smelling bleach. Jay, the front office representative was very helpful, and wonderful to do business with!

The hotel was in a great area. Although the room could use some updating, it was clean and safe. Staff was amazing. We left something behind and they were able to get it back to us. The only issue we had was figuring out how to turn on the shower.
