the good things about this hotel are the lobby and the customer service. the carpet in the hall is old and dirty and rooms are dated and look dirty. stay away.

The pros: The front of the property is the nicest part of the hotel. The pools in the back and the staff are nice aswell. The cons: The inner rooms are poorly outdated. Carpets are musty. Probably one of the most misleading ads. They also state free shuttle services. Yet they charged me 30 USD because my flight falls outside of their "free shuttle" time range. When the driver dropped us off at the airport he demanded more money because "30 is not enough". When i told him he needs to take this us with the hotel he became very upset. The rating is very misleading.

The customer service was poor, our room was dirty and paint was peeling from the walls in our room. Property was in poor condition. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was a poor experience. I got sick from the food, which we waited over 45 minutes for after ordering. The woman working in the gift shop, however, was a shining star. She was the saving grace of our stay....very friendly, helpful and customer-focused. Sadly I woukd not stay here again nor recommend this property.

I have reviewed this hotel before . I found it a great place to stay coming off a flight and before going on to other places in Costa Rica. The pools are fabulous, the landscaping is gorgeous. You can pick up your rented car right at ghe hotel. Beds are comfortable. Restaurant did run out of red wine and some items. I’m definitely staying here again

The room given to us was terrible. Dirty and in extreme need of upgrading. There was no hot water. When we asked to be moved to a different room they refused. The staff at the front desk were not helpful or sympathetic. They would not give us a refund so we could book elsewhere. Do not stay at this hotel, even for a night

I loved staying at this hotel. The grounds and plantings are gorgeous, the pools feel totally luxurious and all the public spaces feel spacious, clean and elegant. They offer free airport transfers and one can pick up and drop off a rental car right at the hotel, how convenient is that.!!! My room was just fine. I had requested a refrigerator and got one. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious, and I thought great for the price. My granddaughters loved the pools. I plan on staying here again when i have to leave Costa Rica by air. The only complaint is the restaurant ran out of red wine, and 2 of the dishes i wanted to order. The cleaning staff for my room were exceptionally gracious, friendly and kind. I also had a dental problem while i was there and was able to walk to the “Dental Smile Center”, which did a great job helping me. It is also walking distance to a fresh market grocery store, and it was easy to get to downtown San Jose via uber. Yes the hotel is older, but that’s why the plantings are so nice. They even have a garden with a mango tree. The gym is one of the best equipped i have run into in a hotel. So 5 stars

The room was only okay. Wall outlets insufficient, one barely affixed to the wall. Large bare plug laying on the floor. Toilet did not flush after the first use. Tub did not drain when showering - I take short showers and was ankle deep in water. My understanding from the web site was that a shuttle was available on request outside of regular hours, this was not the case. After attempting to call and email 24 hours in advance, I was unable to get through or there was no response. The only good thing was the young man at the desk named Jay, very patient and helpful, and the security gentleman at the door who assisted with my bags. I would not stay here again
