DO NOT RENT WITH CASA LAS RUINAS BY STAY WITH BEAR. The Expedia property description is an entire misrepresentation of the actual experience itself. There were a ton of things that just kept getting worse with the property right from the start. Took forever to respond to fix things, We were locked out of our ā€œroomā€ for half hour even though I called when we arrived to have it fixed. Didnt bother giving me the right code until I called back . Room entrance was not accessible because only half of the double French doors open. The entire room covered in dust and dirt. One tiny bed, the tv didnā€™t work, and the shower head had low pressure and was shooting in all different directions and without a curtain so the rest of the bathroom was getting soaked when you shower. I contacted them about the dirty room and spiderwebs everywhere, they said theyā€™d send someone in the morning, no one showed up. Another day in dust. The next day someone was supposed to be there, they only came and took the spiderwebs off the lightbulbs. Didnā€™t touch anything else, no new towels so we had no towels, dirty floors, etc. Wasted 3 days waiting for them to fix the issues with the tv and the room, no refund, their solution was switching us to a room on the last night with a balcony and no noise cancellation so stayed up cuz of the noise outside all night. And the power went out in the morning, no backup generator, couldnā€™t shower brush teeth or use the bathroom. Terrible experience overall.

Our stay was amazing, we did not have any trouble finding the place. We loved the location, we were able to walk anywhere and didnā€™t have to drive/uber. The room was clean and spacious. I thought I had left something behind and the staff were quick to respond back and assist me. Would definitely stay here again!

The pillows were HUGE so they were impossible to use. The bed has a yellow stain. But the worst part for us was that the door had windows with no curtains so at night all the light from the hallway would come in the room so it was really hard to sleep.

My husband and I stayed here. Iā€™m very big on history and It was good to stay in a place where it felt like walking back in time. It was cozy, and conveniently close to good spots to eat.

To start off, the property address on details shows a different address after confirmed booking. They send the correct address once check in will happen. Thatā€™s confusing if multiple people will be staying at the property since the correct address is sent to the person who booked. Secondly, as soon as you walk in, there is a nasty stench, not sure if itā€™s mold or smoke. However, it isnā€™t pleasant. Third, thereā€™s no elevator, so having luggage and/or an elderly person will be excruciating on having to go up the flight of stairs. More over, thereā€™s no parking, they do suggest some parking but itā€™s 5-10 mins away. Which should be listed on the details and information. To continue, once we finally made it into the Airbnb, there was sand everywhere and it was not properly clean. They visually cleaned trash but no broom or mop was used or anything wiped down. To make matters worse, itā€™s listed thatā€™s thereā€™s WiFi but there definitely was no WiFi. They make an excuse as if they send a technician to fix it and when itā€™s not fixed, they state itā€™s a provider issue. Honestly the worse part of the trip was not having WiFi because that also affected the TV which needs a network to function. Due to no proper ventilation, the AC leaks and drips water onto the floor. However, nothing beats the puddle and water leakage when it rains. Thereā€™s a hole on the wall that drips water. We had to put multiple towels to avoid from it spreading everywhere. Property isnā€™t taken care of. Donā€™t book

first room didnā€™t have hot water, felt more like a dorm. They were very quick to respond to accommodate and move to another. the location couldnā€™t have been better. It is old San Juan so I do understand but getting off a plane to cold water stinks. Beautiful place and kind people, and parking right across the street.
