Beautiful resort. We stayed in a room in the marina area. Room was besutiful and spacious. They have a Ferry to Palomillo island which was nice. Lots of food options, although expensive. We had a rental so we went out to ea most of the nights. Pool area is fantastic. Service is fantastic. I highly recommend this resort.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and it took me about 2 days to start liking the place because I felt there was not enough of the island’s culture there and it was geared more toward tourist. Our first night walking around the hotel, we overheard country music being played in the main lounge and the food options on the entire property, left much to be desired. I would have liked to see more of the island’s culture such as food and ambiance. As for our room, it was located in the Marina section of the hotel, which was a good distance from the check-in area, was super spacious, comfortable, clean, and had beautiful views. This resort is probably so tucked away, that I didn’t even hear one coqui or Rooster while staying on property. While I’m on vacation, I want to experience the food and the culture of the island, not feel like I’m back home. My husband and I chose to venture out for brunch & dinner, so the best thing you can do while staying here is to rent a car in order to truly enjoy the island’s culture and food! The ferry to Palomino beach was a huge plus, the staff was supper helpful and went above and beyond, and the pools & water park were awesome! Overall the property was relaxing, beyond beautiful, and breathtaking! I think the hotel could benefit from hiring someone to teach Salsa, Merengue, and bachata dance classes in the main lounge and offer other culture events for all ages.

Showers could definitely be updated. I’d give the actual shower a 1.5 rating. A drink package would be nice. Basic frozen drinks were super expensive. A kids frozen drink was outrageous considering they contain zero alcohol. Food and drink prices were much too high! The resort itself, it was amazing! The staff was great, desert was great, views were great but would have loved to have stayed on property for more meals but you could leave the resort and pay less for a nicer meal.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful… but rooms and service need attention. The rooms are a bit outdated… lamps have rust, glass doors to balcony are creaky, and bathroom granite is stained. Need to add drink and food service at Pool areas and at Palomino. Also need entertainment. Smores night was advertised and not available our whole stay. Entertainment in the lobby is minimal. For such a beautiful large resort you would think there’s more to do. Also need to increase service to and from self parking. The same couple of guys are taking you back and forth and also doing check ins. A smile and a good morning also goes a long way when there isn’t much to offer at the property… staff doesn’t seem too enthused and for the price you pay… all I can say is it is beautiful to look at.

Clean with great views of the sea and such an impressive property. Just which it could have more puerorican traditional theme for the property just like Xcaret Hotel has in Mexico. That could make the El Conquistador a true Puerto Rico’s main hotel.
