The property was not what I expected, upon my arrival the power was out, within my stay the power went out several times. I also didn’t get the room I paid for initially. One of the staff almost walked in on me because he thought the room was empty (not his fault). There is no parking this is definitely bad for business specially when some of us like to rent cars. They also came to clean the room one time, after that they never came back. The staff was ok but I think they need to do better.

Not a three star hotel 2 star with great location

The hotel was three stars I'm not sure how that happened but it's 2 stars with a greatest location. Check in was bad, rooms were partially redone, no real hot water after running for 10 minutes I got 5 minutes of hot water. night front desk was not equipped with tools to even get extra shampoo. Beds were so bad, not even a pad on the bed just a single bottom sheet.

If I could give zero stars I would.

Do Not Stay here! Terrible place to stay. The entrance to the hotel was under construction and you had to go through the side/back door. The room AC did not cool the room. Shower had a leak from the shower head and the ceiling with the entire shower corner moldy (Room 206). Evening and morning staff were not helpful. No accommodations were made. The elevator is very sketchy/unsafe. other customers were also complaining about other room concerns. My understanding, is they know about these issues and continue to place people in these rooms. They act like they had no clue, ask if the AC is Celsius/Fahrenheit and if your settings are set to cool/turbo. One of the other staff advised us to open the window. Please note even after running the AC for 12 plus hours it was still warm. I asked for a refund so i could book somewhere else and they were unable to. Please save your time, and book somewhere else. Luckily for me, this was a one day stay.

I like nothing except the sun and ocean. I was charged $200 like "depozit",wich i supposed to have back! For only one night i paid $350 And the front deck guy said that money will be returned during the day.But i got nothing! The room has everything broken *TV,rosettes,wayer taps.Evetythimg is ol and shabby. Employees are unwelcoming and noisy.

Inexpensive stay

In an area of expensive lodging it served our purpose for an inexpensive 1 night stay prior to a cruise. Check in and out was easy. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is beside a beach. The area was very walkable with good access to restaurants. The hotel itself could use a little TLC.

Very old structure with old bathroom fixtures that were ready to fall off. Furniture in room extremely old and not useful. TV was not functioning. Overdid the room deodorizer to the point of causing throat irritation. Staff was polite but made sure to point out they did not have to accommodate any requests or complaints each and every time they were approached or called upon. Would not recommend any stay here unless there were no other options for the area.

Deck Neglect

The good: There is a main central area, open to the sky, which was pleasant and unique. The bad: The room TV didn’t work during our stay. Wifi didn’t work in the room during our stay. Pictures of the beautiful deck are misleading because it was closed the entire time during our stay; tables, chairs, and other misc. things covered the deck, occluded the view, and it was roped off so you couldn’t even sit there. Customer service was lacking. Neutral: Entering and exiting the location felt like a Super Mario level. Overall: Misrepresentative photos vs. reality (re: hotels.com post), but good location for price, that just needs a total makeover.

Enjoyed our trip in San Juan. The hotel staff was very friendly and so were the other residents staying at Sandy Beach Hotel. The water was hard to figure out how to get the water warm and the lack of a fridge was disappointing.

Good location front entrance in progress

This is a good find for a basic hotel close to the beach. The rooms are redone and the entire front entrance is under construction so it's hard to find entrance. After that, great place.

Shoddy elevator, for starters. Bathroom was clean but only get warm water after letting it run for a while. Terrible water pressure so unable to wash my hair. Uncomfortable mattress and the pillows stunk and need to be throw out. Very noisy and heard the other guests coming and going all night. Overall, this property is very low budget.

If you approach your stay here with low expectations, you will not be disappointed. This is a bare bones tourist hotel. Great location, comfortable bed and good shower. However, we had no WiFi or TV service during our 2-night stay. Ivan at the Front Desk was very cool!
