It's all in the little details! Aside from the modern clean rooms and property, the fresh baked cookies and water in the lobby were a very nice touch. We were surprised to hear that there was a wonderful complimentary breakfast every morning!! That set the tone of each day, just right! Our views from our balcony was so amazing every day. We watched as the staff cleaned up the pool and the cushions from the outdoor furniture every day. Everyone smiled when we passed them. Housekeeping was so kind and courteous as well as front desk staff. The hotel is dog-friendly and the comp treats was a bonus. Everything was almost perfect. The only complaint we have is the AC/fan in the room was very hard to regulate. It would turn off every time we opened our balcony door and that was often. We had to leave the windows open so the room wouldn't get so stuffy but then the noise in the mornings was pretty loud since our room was next to the main walkway to the pool and dining hall. Even at night, we couldn't set AC/fan to kick on properly and we would wake up with 75-76 degree temps. But overall, we love Avila and we love this property!

Spring Break in Avila

Great stay at Avila Lighthouse Suites. It was a first time staying in the area. Beautiful views and beach without being overly crowded, and close to Pismo and downtown San Luis Obispo. Free Breakfast was a pleasant surprise and was really great, freshly cut fruit, hot items, and the other basic continental fare. Overall we would stay here again!

Spring Break Fun

Had a great stay in Avila Beach at The Lighthouse Suites. Our room was generously sized and the location directly across from the beach and adjacent to shopping and dining was perfect. Will definitely be back next year!

From beggining to end the staff was right on point. The room was warm, comfy, with a beautiful view of the ocean! A member of the staff gave us the late check out option toward the end. We were just chopping it up and i ended up informing her that I was there with my girlfriend, and it was our 1 year anniversary. At that point she threw in a free bottle of champagne! All the shops whether you want some good quality food, coffee, or just some last minute stuff you forgot from home are within walking distance. If you like a good latte, go to kraken coffee company. Good fish and chips or clam chowder(which avila or anywhere in the 5 city's area is known for)CUSTOM HOUSE or MERSEA'S. Real simple, walk in and order, type places. These employees are really accustomed to high volumes of people coming in and out. Therefore any lines you might get caught in(mostly weekends)will move pretty quickly. Hopefully this helps.

Disappointed with our stay, largely due to unexpected fees. Nowhere during booking on Travelocity was the $150 pet fee communicated, which was an unwelcome surprise at check-in. On top of that, the $50 daily resort fee felt like overreach during winter when there’s little to no use for the pool, bikes, or beach chairs. Essentially, we paid $50 a day for a subpar breakfast. Speaking of breakfast—arriving at 8:30 AM on a Wednesday, we found the coffee and orange juice were already gone, and the eggs and bacon were ice cold. Overall, the hidden fees of $250 over two days wasn’t worth the price for a mid-February stay bringing out nightly total to $432/day. Wouldn’t book here again mostly due to the hidden fees.

Wonderful Hotel with ocean view - spacious & clean. Everything within walking distance; beach, park, Aquarium, shops, restraints, wine tasting. It's the best. We love staying at Avila Lighthouse.
