This hotel is in deplorable condition. When we arrived at our assigned room, the door was wide open. The lock bolt was completely ineffective, and the only way to secure the door was with a flimsy chain. The room had a distinctly old and unclean atmosphere. The carpet was stained and filthy; our sheets were strewn with hair and remnants of dried food. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable, as I could feel the steel coils digging into my back. To top it all off, I was awoken at midnight by the snoring from the neighboring room and barely managed to get any rest. The outdoor parking garage was cluttered and chaotic. While the location is ideal for accessing downtown on foot, I would not recommend this hotel.

Really nice staff and clean rooms. Just need to manage your expectations because the property and rooms are really old and run down with the exception of a couple of single queen bed rooms that have been updated. But the double queen rooms have yet to be updated. Best price for being in close proximity to downtown SLO.

A decent place to sleep...but that's it.

First, I wasn't expecting much given the price of this inn, but it still left a lot to be desired. If you just need a place to sleep with clean sheets and don't want to break the bank, then this is your place. But if you are with family or a couple even, I would not recommend this Inn. There were a lot of things that could be updated (carpet w/stains, curtains w/stains, old vanity in bathroom with what looked like mold at the bottom, old bed, and walls that could be fixed re painted.) I guess you get what you pay for...

Maybe try for a better option. Like motel 6. Staff was nice but charge of $10 extra to check in at 1:30 instead of their check in of 4pm. Room needed lots of fixing. Walk unit heater in closet was super noisy, woke me up at least 8x overnight. Sink leaked but hot water was very fast through faucet. Shower hot which was good. Room is dated, could use painting & a loving touch. Should've paid even less than what we though as budget.

The neighbors were noisy on a Friday night. Played loud music that we could hear in our unit. Much quieter on Saturday night. The units were brand new remodeled with new counters and fixtures and brand new heat pumps for heating and cooling. Very well put together and very comfortable.
