The room and bed were comfortable, clean and well maintained. What I did not like is the $20 fee for breakfast, wifi, parking, service fee when I checked in. Why not charge it up front instead of charging you at the desk when you check in. Also do not like the sign in the room asking you to tip the maid. Why not pay them a living wage?

Thin walls. Sofa bed mattress is cot quality and very squeaky. Friendly and helpful staff, decent breakfast, nice onsite food. Clean except the hot tub had several inches of white foam floating on top. Good price for area but get what you pay for.

Older property, but somewhat renovated. Very well cared for property as a whole with friendly staff. Cute areas for outdoor & indoor seating, including a bar with complimentary drinks, fire pits with seating all over the property, heated pool, a gazebo, and up against the river with bench seating. They even had a caterer on the premises selling burgers and grilled chicken, which was extremely helpful after traveling all day. Rooms are large and perfect for families. They definitely need additional updating, especially in the bathroom. Vanity chair with counter has no mirror, the sink has very old fixtures, drop ceiling in shower/toilet area is unsightly and overall is just an awkward layout. The mattress is as hard as a floor, so we woke up with hurting backs. However, the beautiful gardens, trees, staff and amenities made our visit pleasant and lovely.

Quality Suites is on the northern end of Monterey Street, quiet but also a direct route to downtown SLO. Loved the room, which was spacious and had a nice shower. Also loved that breakfast was included, there is a pool and hot tub and there are lots of areas to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Definitely recommend this for you SLO visit; we will certainly return.
