Day of check-in, was harassed via text, email, and phone to give an ETA that I didn't have. Room's AC unit was so loud that it disrupted my sleep. Bed blanket was rough and scratchy. Hotel WiFi timed out every time I attempted to connect. Shower pipes rattled like a failing engine when in use. Received another amount text the next morning regarding checkout time.

The vegabond has a bit of wear and tear but overall a great property to lay your head. It was clean. The outside firepits where welcomed on foggy cool nights. AC worked great.

My favorite place to stay when I visit my son at Cal Poly! Close to freeway & restaurants. Great location! Rooms are basic but very clean. Great rates too.

Not going to be a next time
The only good thing was the price and even then I should have known better. Walking into the room we were hit with an awful smell of old food. The microwave needs to be replaced it smells like spaghetti and a mixture of other smells. When the heater kicked on it’s too close to the fire alarm so it went off in the early morning. Every time water was turned on somewhere it rattles the walls so sleeping through the night was not an option either. Instead of sleeping in we decided to drive home after this one night stay “vacation”.

Good price when booked early. Clean and updated room. Aircon and fridge are noisy, so we turned off the aircon and adjusted the fridge temperature level lower for a good night's sleep. Can hear water pipe noise from other rooms.

I like this place a lot! Lots of room, clean, friendly service however this stay was not as pleasant. There was a horrible oder coming from the sink and you had to hold your breath when around the area. But I will come back because it’s a nice place to stay with good value.

Rough...
I got what I paid for I guess. The fridge was dirty. The walls were paper thin as I could hear everything going on in the other rooms. There was a weird vibration in the wall closest to the window from when the AC units or ice machine would kick on making it impossible to sleep at night.

Great location & value - Vagabond Inn San Luis Obispo is an older property, but it is kept up and cared for and is in a great location. We have stayed at the property several times as it is a good value for a family and the grandkids love the pool. The location is wonderful because it is close to downtown, there are stores and a grocery across the street. It is also safe, and we have never had a problem. The famous Madonna Inn is located right next door, and we walk over there for meals or to listen to music in the evenings with the grandkids and they love it. We always look forward to the clean pool and appreciate the owners for all their work keeping the place nice for us to relax and enjoy. Every time we stay overnight in San Luis we stay at the Vagabond Inn.
