Right after I checked in on 2/13, I found out the phone in my room didn’t work. I immediately called the front desk from my cell phone. I was told a word order would be submitted. The lobby had a certain stench but the room smelled worse - I said “stale” and my son said “like mold”. Or even feet. The toilet seat was broken and the toilet wasn’t working properly either. On day three I asked about the room phone and was told they were working on 2 phone repairs, assuming they were working on mine. When I checked out the phone still didn’t work. I suggest replacing bad parts more often? And it would be nice to have some kind of “covered “ area out front or nearby so when it rains you don’t get soaked. I also got charged for 5 nights of parking and only had a car for 3 nights. I believe the front desk was taking care of that part, but said I needed to contact Expedia for a phone and toilet credit of some sort. I don’t expect perfection and rarely complain, but these issues need to be addressed.

Nickel and dime you

$150 non refundable pet fee for my small dig. I was told that they don’t want dogs and thats why they charge so much. Never in my 10 years with hotels.com I have come across this anti animal policy. I had to pay because it was non refundable. So I went upstairs to my room thinking this place was a 4 Star Beautiful Pl. and the carpets were so bad. The room is so old with Nick‘s and dents on the furniture. The bed was wrinkled and the pillows weren’t even on nice enough everything was not to what I would expect a hotel that doesn’t like dogs because they say they are dirty to be in . The gentleman at the front was nice but said its a Marriot policy. They simply don’t want or like Pets. I have never left a 2 star comment. My first in 10 years.

Perfect stay for our trip in San Diego and area

It was the perfect place for our 3 nights stay. The hostess at the front desk was welcoming and professional, the breakfast offered several choices, the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen area is very convenient for an even longer stay. We also enjoyed the fitness room and swimming pool. The only aspect we found could be improved is the noise of the air conditioning which is quite loud at night. Everything else was perfect. Many thanks to the team. We will surely stay with you again when we are back in San Marcos and San Diego

Very friendly staff when we arrived. It seemed to be a quiet area (we arived at night) nice fire pit outside that hadlots of seats around it. Room was clean and very spacious.

At check in Karen at the front desk was not friendly and had an attitude. The room was very clean, however the shower and bathroom sink was not draining. I brought it to John’s attention and he is very prompt with his service to come and fix the problem. During our second night there was a group of guest having a party that were outside in the pool area and their voices were loud after midnight that kept me awake. When I brought it up with Karen the next morning again Karen was loud and rude and got very hostile, I ask to speak with the manager and was told I would get a call back that afternoon. Two days later still no call from Bryan the manager, so I had to call Bryan as was aware of the complaint. He said he could not do anything about the noise complaint as he let the party happen. Beware the 10 pm noise curfew might or might not apply at this hotel. Beware Bryan the manager might not fix the problem to keep his guest happy.
