The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was great. The property was very quiet - that may have been due to the fact that we did get lucky and have the very back corner unit. We had 2 issues - the fireplace barely worked and one morning it took about 15 minutes of running the shower to finally get hot water. Not deal breakers (since the hot water did eventually work) but just something to note. The front desk service was sub par - not rude or anything, just very blah and uninterested in helping. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much though. The beach is right across the street, there are some restaurant and shopping options right there on the main beachfront strip, but we mostly went to Main Street (about a mile walk or a really quick drive). Definitely recommend Indigo Moon as a dinner spot.

The location was great. The bed was very comfy, and the fireplace was a nice touch. The closet was dirty and dusty. I worried about dirtying my stuff. The tv options were a bit dated, but it could've been worse. Staff was friendly. Check in and out were super easy.

Very weak internet in an area with very weak T-Mobile signal so pretty isolated feeling. No food utensils, just things they want to upsell in lobby. Parking good. Beds good. Mirror with built in light kept flashing off/on sporadically. Can't fix that so didn't request it being fixed and we were in last room with 2 queens. Only 2 restaurants nearby totally full and locals line up with chairs as don't take reservations. Reading reviews sounds like not that good. I think the good reviews are from locals to support local ;) $300 as fine as been on 2 week west coast trip averaging about that a night but felt like taken advantage of given the amenities

Comfy bed, nice quiet room, clean, a generous amount of towels, nice fireplace. Room looked larger in online pics than it actually was, rather expensive for a room without a balcony. Paint and wallpaper peeling in places. Hard water makes showering a little less effective.

Overall, I was disappointed. First, I think I paid a bit more for a room with a partial ocean view. I’m not sure there’s any way to specify whether you get a ground floor or second floor room. I got a ground floor room, and it’s not great. Folks walking by outside get a clear view into your bedroom and it’s a bit uncomfortable. But not a deal breaker. What really bothered me was the condition of the furniture. Chairs were horribly stained and frankly, dilapidated. I’m shocked they kept them in a room that costs over 300/night. When my fiancée mentioned the chairs, the young lady working the front desk casually mentioned they were going to be thrown away soon. Yikes. If they’re headed to the trash, maybe don’t keep them in the rooms? That leads me to my second complaint - the staff. They were nice enough. But the majority appeared to be under the age of 25. It felt like several college kids running a hotel. Nothing against young folks working an honest day, but the level of service and attention to detail was commensurate with - well - 20 year olds. Finally, the hotel offers nothing in terms of basic amenities. They claim to partner with the cow tipper down the road for room service. But the QR code on the menu didn’t work. So we tried to call them on our cell, and the cow tipper didn’t answer. Maybe the front desk knows how to order? No luck, the phone in the room didn’t work. What a mess. There’s plenty of options in the area. I cant recommend this one.

Wonderful environment, quiet and beautiful area. My daughter got married at the San Simeon Bay property and the entire wedding property stayed at the Fogcatcher in 2016. Great time then and now.

It wasn’t a bad stay but I wouldn’t stay here again. They said their breakfast cafe was open and that we could get coffee and food delivered to our room but the restaurant was closed and no one told us. The staff told us to order from there and when we tried calling they did not answer so we drove down there and it was closed.

While we loved the location we had two incidents that tainted our visit. This motel only has maid service if you ask. So we did ask and the day we came we were out til 7:30pm. They turned on the heater/fireplace. We came back to a 100 degree room. Took hours to cool down as there’s no air conditioning. Then the second night two dogs started barking 2 rooms down. Two o’clock in the morning there wasn’t much we could do. Mentioned it on checkout and they said “we are a dog friendly place”. I should have called they said. The staff was friendly otherwise. It’s a little worn around the edges but a great location on Moonstone walkway.

The property was nice, it’s in a great area and I have stayed at a hotel a few blocks down before. This is a Pet friendly hotel so upon entering the room I could smell a faint odor. Room felt dull and there was no decor to make it warm or welcoming.

Who Made The Bed?
Room was spacious and confortable with view of the ocean which was nice being that my wife and I were celebrating our 28th wedding aniversary. The one drawback was after being out most of the morning we came back to find the room undone. Went I went to the front desk to ask about it I was told I needed to request maid service if I wanted the room and bathroom cleaned. I was never notified of that when we checked in the previous night. I was told by the front desk the manager would call to offer a remedy, they never did. Cambria is a favorite place for my wife and I having made this stop as part of our honeymoon 28 years ago. This is one of a few places we've stayed in Cambria. I don't think we'll be staying here again.

Very nice location. No breakfast on site, had to go somewhere else. Was given address but no directions. Claim they will deliver but there is a cost for that service. Couldn't tell if good or bad food opened at 7:30 and we left just before that time. Frent desk attendant was new and didn't know where anything was. Did not had place for outgoing mail. Lots of places to stay along street will try one of them next visit.
