This hotel is extremely close to Cedar Point. However, our bathroom had a large rot hole from being wet on the wall and the ceilings were drop ceilings clearly showing age. The breakfast on day one consisted of oranges, green bananas, muffins and bread for toast still in the bread bag like you would buy from the grocery store, eggs, and orange juice that tasted awful. On day 2 the breakfast did have sausage patties and some mix for waffles but limited before they shut down the waffle machines. This was so sad that it was embarrassing honestly. We ended up having to buy breakfast each day.

The hotel is quiet which was nice since we were there for the ohio bike week. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Its close to cedar point, but thats really the only place close by. Our room was ok since we were only there to sleep. The hotel is old and showing its age. It could use a refresh. Breakfast was fair, eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit. Overall our experience okay.

Review for Baymont by Wyndham Sandusky (May 23–25,

My family and I stayed here for a volleyball tournament, and while I really wish I could say it was a great experience, the only redeeming part of our stay was the exceptional staff. Every staff member we encountered was professional, polite, and extremely helpful. Truly, if the hotel were being rated on staff alone, I’d give it 10 stars without hesitation. Hats off to them for doing their best in a difficult situation. Unfortunately, the condition of the hotel itself left much to be desired. The room we stayed in had visible mold under the sink and on the wall above the beds, which is especially concerning for guests with allergies or respiratory issues. We felt compelled to thoroughly disinfect the room ourselves with Clorox wipes and Lysol spray, which is not something guests should have to do. Worse yet, there was an infestation of flies both in and around the room. We discovered a hole in the window ledge and a large gap under the door, which allowed bugs to get in easily. Our first night was spent mostly killing flies rather than relaxing after a long day. I really wanted to enjoy this stay, but the cleanliness and maintenance issues made it difficult. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable room. However, I do want to emphasize again how outstanding the staff were—they were the bright spot in an otherwise disappointing stay.

The hasp (part that keeps the door from opening all the way) was broken off the door, the smoke detector kept beeping. The TV in the room wouldn't work with the remote provided. Reported all issues. Was told someone would be down to fix problems, one woman came wrapped in a blanket to look at the tv, she stated she had been sick & knew she should have called in that day. She temporarily fixed the tv. No one else came to fix other issues. Breakfast was okay.

Decent for the price

Very basic hotel - get what you pay for. Breakfast was good, employees were friendly, and place was surface clean. But... Microwave didn't work, the front door was warped, and the room was poorly stocked (no tissues or extra TP).
