This hotel is basically like a Motel 6 or Ecolodge. It’s in the worst part of a great area (between 2 busy streets and just off a freeway on/off ramp), but very convenient to the beach and walkable. $700 for 3 nights is hard to stomach but that’s Santa Barbara.

The Inn By The Harbor was conveniently located near Santa Barbara Harbor, the Funk Zone and shopping/dining on State Street. The staff was very attentive and welcoming.

We had a large room with a full kitchen. A bit larger than needed but was well appointed and clean. Location was good for Santa Barbara activities. A small breakfast was included and was OK, not special. Plants and trees around the property were beautiful. Recommended.

The location was ideal. Very close to the Funk Zone and State st. The hotel is a small apartment complex turned into a hotel. The rooms reeked of stale cigarette smoke and was difficult to endure. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly who offered great recommendations to the cities sites and restaurants.

I don’t know the area but from what I could discern I expected this to be very near the water. Inn By The Harbor was actually Motel By the Gas Station. The photo is a cute tiny area at the entrance. The rest of the property is old and somewhat rundown. The weekend rate off season was $400 ish per night. Not what I usually get for that. A lot of these old places need to be taken down and rebuilt but that won’t happen as long as they’re making $$ I suppose. The staff was lovely and does what they can but this is a very old motor inn. The hot tub should be deglazed as finish is very worn off in many areas. Near very busy intersection so often difficult to pull into parking lot…..It was “ok”

Great little place with friendly staff. Breakfast is very nice as is the wine & cheese in the evening. Use of bikes included in your stay is so good as its the perfect way to get around town I would only say that the name indicates to me that it’s located by the harbor but really isn’t. Its a 10 min walk or 5 min bike ride. Overall, very nice experience.
