We had such a wonderful experience at the Santa Barbara Inn! One of the things we loved most was the personal touch—they texted us before our arrival and throughout our stay to make sure everything was perfect. The service felt so thoughtful and attentive. The location couldn’t be better—it’s just steps from the beach, and the beach-view suites are absolutely gorgeous. Waking up to that view made our trip extra special. We can’t wait to come back!

Second stay in this hotel. First time in a sea view, this time in a standard room (round the back overlooking the car park but with a surprisingly good view of the mountains beyond). Rooms spotless and the hotel has a classy feel. Location good (safe and just across the road to the beach) though be aware that the sea view has road and palm trees in the way. Valet parking efficient though on street parking available round the back. The restaurant has a great location and feel outside though the menu had taken a dive since our previous visit and service was annoyingly forceful at trying to push the most expensive possible option at every opportunity. Upscale hotel options are limited in Santa Barbara and I do feel that to a certain extent the Santa Barbara Inn rests on its laurels. By way of example if you want to sit on the beach there’s an independent beach club just down the road. For what the hotel costs and its beach front location a hotel owned option straight across the road would be great. Overall, about as good as it get’s in Santa Barbara. Expect spotless rooms, very good service (except in the restaurant) but don’t expect surprising little extras.

This is a beautiful property. The room was beautifully furnished, and the bathroom was spectacular. Dinner, which was room service, was very good and delivered in 15-20 minutes. But our third floor ocean view room did not have what I would consider an ocean view. The view of the ocean was basically blocked by palm tree branches, and looking at the hotel from the outside, many of the third floor rooms would have the same issue. The room below ours would have had a clear, unobstructed view of the ocean. Also, the outdoor pool and hot tub area is directly adjacent to the outdoor seating area of the restaurant, which is enclosed by a short stone wall topped by glass. Anyone in the outdoor seating area of the restaurant has a clear view of the pool area, which (personally) made me feel uncomfortable.

Everything about this hotel was great. except.......we paid a lot of money for the top floor suite...probably 3 times the $$$ compared to a regular room. It was a special visit for our anniversary and a birthday weekend. The suite was awesome with great views, but not anywhere near worth what they charged. One other thing. If you are staying here and paying this amount of $$$$ and sitting by the pool, there should be staff to serve you out there. You have to get out of the pool, make a phone call to the restaurant (which is a 3' wall away from the pool) and wait for a waitress to bring your drink, with a bill. Every drink was via this process. Really? ever heard of an open tab? anyway, it was no worth the $$$. we will go elsewhere if ever in SB again.
