Checking in the property the wait was quite long as no one was at the front desk & a bell was there to ring them over meaning this is a normal or frequent occurrence at this hotel. And when the worker came out she came out in a face mask. She was nice enough to wave an early check in fee, which is appreciated. Overnight the people next to us were loud on the phone or with their TV, but we didn’t feel safe enough to tell them anything or leave the room in the evening due to the poor lighting around the rooms. And the front desk again looked abandoned & doors appeared locked. Overall, not a good place to stay for females.

I lived in Santa Barbara for many years, several years ago. And I know the current Santa Barbara prices now. For me to get this one night, Queen size room, comfortable bed, VERY CLEAN throughout, extremely convenient to many necessities and other types of stores and things, free parking, a refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer, coffee maker, full size ironing board and iron, quiet stay, friendly and helpful staff,….and to pay what I did, was beyond a bargain for Santa Barbara. The area is safe and well lit. And most important to me are cleanliness and safety. The room was very clean (all rooms), and it looked perhaps even freshly painted m. Judy’s what I needed for my one night stay. I would recommend. Thank you Sunset Motel!

The room was very clean, had a couple of issues but the wonderful owner fixed what she could very quickly. The Jetted tub doesn’t work in room 207 but not a biggie! Still enjoyed the stay and the staff.

This is essentially comparable to a Motel 6 but pricier not as nice. The shower was new and upgraded but the bathroom wasn’t great. My primary concern was safety as the bathroom window did not lock and could easily be opened from the outside as we discovered the next morning. We were on the first floor.
