Carpet needs cleaning. Our toddler wore white socks while walking around the room and the carpet was definitely not clean. Bed was soft. Got two free breakfast vouchers thru expedia silver status. The vouchers were for a bakery down the block; the breakfast was for a pastry, a piece of bread, coffee, and juice. The parking garages are small but are under the buildings which was good since it was raining on our night. Getting luggage to our room required us to carry it up a small flight of stairs to get to the elevators. Alternative would be to lug it around the building and into the main entrance. The window was broken. There was a gap between the window panes which let in a draft and the noise from the street. There was coffee at the lobby but we didn't see any water. Convenient spot. Fortunately it was close to the hamburger spot that appeared to be the only thing open on Christmas night. It was a short walking distance to the downtown area.

Vinland was very short on staff the day we checked in. Our room was not ready till 6:30PM. This was happing to all the guests that were checking in this Monday afternoon. The bathtubs glaze coating was peeling off. And there were some permanent wear markings on the carpeting. We liked the location, and the hotel seemed to be rated well. But it was a bust for us.

The staff there were very nice. The hotel lobby was clean and presentable. The room that we stayed in had a couple things in the room that were broken. We brought up the concerns to the hotel staff and the staff member did offer to call maintenance. The room was spacious and the hotel is in a convenient location. We were off walking distance to shops and restaurants.

The rooms were clean, beds were comfy, the bathroom setups were a little unusual (sink was outside the bathroom), and no closet space, only a hanging rod next to the fridge/microwave. Also, the TV in both rooms didn’t work. The walls were thin so it was noisy when people are walking by or opening their doors. Staff were nice and accommodating. I also wished they had a restaurant on-site instead of just a bar. Overall, the place was nice and we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was not prepared for new years. We tried to check in at 4pm an hour after check in time and the room was not going to ready until 5pm. And that was the case for a lot of other guests too who tried to check in even earlier. After a long drive it was frustrating. Luckily when our room was ready everything worked out. But other people were complaining about dirty rooms, smelling carpets and our friends had a really bad ant infestation. Key cars were unreliable and a friend got locked out of the hotel. The front desk was very unfriendly and standoffish in a combative way. It really ruined the very cute vibe at the hotel. Hotel its self is nice. Great coffee and great bar. The bartender was great and he gave excellent recommendations.

The hotel has a European-style atmosphere, and the room was fairly large. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable musty odor in the room, and it felt cold, possibly due to being on the third floor. The towels appeared worn with loose thread and the pillows had an unpleasant smell, which raised concerns about cleanliness. This made the stay less comfortable overall.
