Great place!! Unique property in the cut of a beautiful residential neighborhood. Centrally located, but private and staff was efficient and amendable to requests. Great place to go with dogs!

Best Kept Secret for a Romantic Weekend Away!!

Visited with my partner during Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and we truly had the best time and wish we extended our stay! Romantic, quaint, quiet, inspiring and peaceful. We immediately were impressed by the property - towering eucalyptus trees wrapped in ivy, monarch butterflies everywhere, large deck with adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean (just bring a bottle of wine & enjoy!!), blooming flowers surround the most quintessential Victorian cottages, bald eagles circling above and clear ocean views. Katrina and her long haired dachshund gave us an incredibly lovely tour of the property (equip with the history of the space + ownership) before showing us to our room. The room was comfortable, adorable and clean and had an ocean view (to our surprise!!). Every morning, the hotel staff brought a platter of breakfast to our room, featuring local pastries, a carafe of coffee, fresh cut fruit and orange juice. Overall, I we felt this place was so magical and are already planning our next trip back!! We also are looking at their wedding offerings 💛

Beautiful property. We had a one night stay but we really enjoyed our stay and walked around the property admiring the beautiful garden and views. Will definitely come back soon and stay longer. It is older but has character. The grounds are beautiful with plertiful flowers and lush green trees and bushes. The bay view is phenomenal. We had a suite upstairs which was an inconvenience but staff more than made up for it. There was an eagle pair nesting there and fishing in the ocean with the pelicans. It is quiet and peacefull and beautiful.

The building is over 130 years old, passed down through generations as a family retreat until it became the Monarch Cove Inn. However, despite its age, there are upgrades to satisfy today's expectations. Perched high along the cliffs of Capitola overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it stands by itself at the end of the road. Surrounded by luxury homes, it is a short 10 to 15 minute casual walk into Capitola Village. Upon our arrival, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. While the evenings are cool, the electric fireplace warmed up the room for relaxing and cozy comfort. The bed was very comfortable, covered in a four-poster style veil, creating an old-world charm. A continental breakfast of juice, coffee, and pastries was delivered to our door in the morning. The surrounding gardens, with an open deck of chairs and tables overlooking the sea and the peninsula, made for a spectacular and relaxing view. We sat there on the deck watching eagles glide through the sky while sipping prosecco. This was our first visit celebrating our wedding anniversary. Monarch Cove Inn is a hidden gem, unique, delivering an experience of gracious charm you will never forget. We look forward to our return.

Perfect place to stay. Beautiful property. Nice walk to the village (about 1/2 a mile). Room was older but we didn't mind. Bed was super comfy and continental breakfast delivered to room is a nice perk. Excellent customer service. Would defintely stay there again!

A Charming Stay at Monarch Cove Inn My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying in the Rose Garden Room at the Monarch Cove Inn, and it was nothing short of magical. The room itself was incredibly clean, spacious, and cozy—with its own kitchen and living space, it truly felt like a home away from home. We immediately felt comfortable and at ease. The property is like something out of a storybook—an old-style house nestled among beautiful gardens, blooming flowers, and towering trees, all with a breathtaking view of the ocean. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down and enjoy every little detail. Katrina greeted us when we arrived and gave us a lovely introduction to the property. She was so kind and welcoming, making us feel like old friends rather than guests. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Bob, who was equally warm and friendly. It’s clear that everyone here genuinely cares about making your stay special. Breakfast was just perfect—adorably presented and delicious. It was the perfect start to our mornings, enjoyed with a view that we’ll never forget. We couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and charming getaway. Monarch Cove Inn is a hidden gem, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

The office manager was so sweet! She walked me over to my room while talking about the grounds and pointing out the nearby trail and multiple seating areas overlooking the ocean. To top off the experience, her adorable 4-year old pup led the way! This was the most welcome, charming check-in I’ve ever had. Thank you!!!
