Great place—except for its parking lot
My partner and I greatly enjoy the Inn of the Governors. We stay here several times a year. The one thing that we do not enjoy is the parking. Stalls are tight, and during our last stay, we had to park several blocks off-site when we returned from dinner because the lot was full.

I walked from the train station to the hotel. When I gazed upon the property I thought to myself “An overpriced Super 8” as I saw rooms that were accessed from an outside walkway. My opinion somewhat changed at the reception desk. The gentleman who checked me in was very professional. Then, I was told that my room was located on the walkway. Very disappointed as I am a solo woman traveler. When I reviewed my reservation I saw that “indoor” rooms cost more. However, the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Another disappointment was the free breakfast. It is listed as made to order. It is kind of. Pick 1, 2 or 3 or a la carte (pick three items). The choices are limited. In addition, the pancakes were small and over cooked and the eggs were tasteless. I did enjoy the sausage links and biscuits and gravy. You can’t beat the location and check out is 12:00 PM which was convenient since my train left at 3:05 PM. I will stay somewhere else next time.
