Overall great resort, especially if you have children. The birds at the buffet area are a nightmare, but it compensates with the lovely staff. Great views from el Lago tower, and pools were fun.

Experiencia decepcionante en el Hotel Irotama — Desinformación y mal servicio Soy residente permanente en Estados Unidos y ciudadano colombiano. Ingresé recientemente a Colombia y, como ciudadano, utilicé el sistema de registro biométrico (registro de iris) para ingresar al país, lo cual evita la necesidad de sellar el pasaporte. Esta modalidad está plenamente reconocida por Migración Colombia. Antes de viajar, consulté la página web del Hotel Irotama, donde claramente indican que los ciudadanos colombianos residentes en el exterior pueden quedar exentos del IVA si presentan su documento de residencia extranjera, sin mencionar que el sello en el pasaporte sea obligatorio. Con base en esa información, no solicité que me sellaran el pasaporte. Lamentablemente, al momento del check-in, la persona que nos atendió desconocía esta normativa y afirmó que era obligatorio tener el sello de ingreso o un registro migratorio, el cual tiene un costo adicional y tarda alrededor de 15 días en ser procesado. Solicité hablar con un supervisor y, para mi sorpresa, él tampoco estaba al tanto de las políticas actualizadas publicadas en el propio sitio web del hotel. Ambos insistieron en cobrar el IVA, asegurando que "podría solicitar el reembolso al salir del país", lo cual en Colombia es, en la mayoría de los casos, una ilusión burocrática o una pérdida de tiempo. Además de este grave problema de desinformación y maltrato al cliente, el servicio no estuvo a la altura del precio. Solo

The place is so beautiful, people are kind and helpful. however they charge me more on top of what i paid to expedia, for expedia had not informed. Also the issue with towels, i think a five star hotel should not be so mean with changing towels
