After our first day, there was no hot water for the remainder of our stay. We were told that it was going to be fixed several times(over 5 days) with no change. No communication was made unless we asked what was going on. We were offered complimentary breakfast, but no refund. The staff on the ground were very kind overall but it seemed no manager was to be found. The staff shared that the hot water has been an issue before and seemed like they were not surprised. The rooms were overall clean but the property needed some general cleaning and maintenance. It was obvious that the money spent on the property was in the conference area and lobby as opposed to the actual living areas. The location was good because it was only a few minutes to downtown Venice, but I would not recommend staying there. If management were more responsive I maybe would have rated slightly better.

We're extremely unhappy that we weren't told at check in that there was no hot water. We had a broken lamp in our room and the shelf in the shower had snapped off, leaving sharp edges on the shower wall. We contacted hotels dot com and when the representative contacted the property, they were told that we were offered a free breakfast as compensation that we accepted. That is blatantly untrue. We already had a free breakfast perk with our reservation and didn't use it. Why would we accept a free breakfast as compensation? Incredibly disappointed with our experience.

Not happy!

Our check in was smooth. After that down hill. We had a lot of sketchy older men all over the hotel area on the way up to the second floor with no elevator for all our stuff. We get to our room open the door the room was fine but the smell of weed was like someone just smoked a blunt and then shut the door. I called down to switch rooms and she said no I’m sorry. I should have known then! So we get ready to swim which was nice. The pool was nice but not very many chairs. After we swim we go up shower and get ready for bed. The next day we get up to shower and no hot water. I call down they say they are working on it. We leave with no shower for the entire day. We get back at 5 still no hot water. I ask for a refund so we can go to another hotel and she was like no sorry. WHAT??? We have been to the beach all day and can’t shower? We ended up leaving at 7 am the next morning to pay extra at our next hotel for early check in so we could shower! Never again. I know things happen but no refunds so we could go to another hotel.

I liked how beautiful the courtyard was. The only problem was the shower leaked, but that will happen and cant be fixed unless staff are informed. I informed the front desk and they wrote a maintenance ticket right away which was very good service.

Homeless guy sleeping under the stairs, wasn’t told that I could prepay for breakfast. Hotel is old and needs a lot of work. Hot tub isn’t working, most laundry machines aren’t working. I would never stay here again

In our opinion this property has seen better days and a substantial up fit is needed. The hvac in our room did not have a working control that allowed for a temperature change and the room remained too cool. Also the door into the room did not fit tightly, allowing for too much flex and suggested a safety concern. Fortunately the lock held. Almost ironically, they charged an extra $50 for our 7 pound toy poodle while the other, much nicer hotels, that we stayed at on our trip charged nothing. We travel to Venice often but won’t stay here again.

We shopped around for hotels and this one was a fair price for the amenities. The pool was large. We ended up with a suite, which I was not expecting. It had a large living room with a pull-out sofa bed, which we did not use. Nice furnished kitchen. We only stayed for three nights but could have been comfortable for a month. We would stay there again, and probably will!
