Historic building in fine, updated condition with many, many eating places and shops within walking distance. The parking is inconvenient, but that’s better than tearing down old, beautiful buildings for parking lots. Bar, restaurant in hotel….

Great Hotel and Location for Dordogne Touring
We spent 3 nights at Plaza Madeleine while exploring the Dordogne area. Great location in Sarlat-la-Candeda. The staff was very helpful in making dinner reservations. The room was great. Breakfast was the typical buffet. Because we were out for most of the day, we parked near the hotel and paid for 1-2 hours of parking. After 7pm parking is free until 9am so we would set out before 9 for a cheap way to park conveniently to the hotel. This may have been easier in the off season (late Oct) than it might be during the summer.

Very charming hotel in heart of town. Quaint and very walkable. Hotel staff was exceptional. The personnel at breakfast each morning were the best. Any request was happily fulfilled. Very friendly. Élégant hotel right in the heart of the old city. Very attentive staff, good sized room with view to town activity. Bath was big enough to be useable! Outside seating for snacks and drinks from the hotel bar.
