You can tell it’s an older property but they appear to be going through and trying to update things. Mattresses on the beds are not the best- you can clearly see how broken down they are. The flooring in the rooms and hallway is nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Went through town for one night. Upon arrival we were a little cautious due to the three dilapidated vehicles in the driveway near the front entrance (likely long term renters - they have weekly rates). When we went in to check in I noticed the facility was on the older side and a little rough around the edges, however, the friendliness of the staff and the clean room made up for it. This was a very quiet place. No concerns. I would recommend.

Frustrating breakfast
Was very frustrating to pay extra for breakfast and to not have 1 thing we could eat because we are diabetic. Asked desk if they could credit for the breakfast and she told me we should not have paid extra for that, it was included.

Couldn't find a room in SSM Canada so crossed the border to stay one night. It was an easy cross, hotel was only a few minutes from border. Next to lots of shopping if needed.

It was a fairly typical two story Hotel. One problem with these is when they don't have carpeting, you can have some noisy people shopping around upstairs when your room's on the main floor. I was glad my initially noisy upstairs neighbors settled down for the night and I got a good sleep. This was a pretty good place and I'd stay here again.

Never got to actually stay there due to your location. It was not made clear on Expedia’s site that when booking to stay in the Canadian city of Sault St Marie this property is actually in the US and passports are required by Canadians to cross the border to stay there. Not sufficient info provided so we lost our full booking amount to Expedia. Upsetting experience !!!

We felt like we were sleeping on a board, the beds were extremely hard in our room. The floor in our room felt it hadn’t swept or cleaned in months. The floor in the shower was super slippery. When I walked into the lobby to register the attendant was on a personal cell phone and never acknowledged for 2 full minutes. The furniture was very outdated. Every single light was unplugged in the room. The cover to set the thermostat was missing. The parking lot had large craters. This is a VERY dated motel.
