We LOVED everything about our stay at La Joya. It's an absolute stunning property, very well kept grounds and clean rooms. The food was incredible - so fresh and delicious. The service was amazing. Short 5 min drive to downtown. Everything was perfect!
If I were to visit Sayulita again I would not hesitate to stay at La Joya again. The hotel had some sort of retreat while we were there but other than that, we felt like we were some of the only other guests. The accommodation, restaurant, and pool was quite enjoyable. While the beach is beautiful, it isn’t too calm (which is perhaps a given)? We hiked to playa carricitos and took a cab to San Pancho to swim.
The location is a roughly 20-minute walk from town, however it’s a bit of a workout going up and down the hilly terrain. I enjoyed the walk however I know some people wouldn’t. If you hike walk to town, have good shoes and bring a flashlight if you’re traveling during the evening. You can just as easily enjoy food at the restaurant however it’s a bit more expensive than in town. For the 4 days we were there, we ate at both the restaurant and in town toto save on money and to also enjoy exploring and trying new things.
Amazing property, the food was incredible and the staff were great. We will be back

Trouble in paradise, bad odor.
La Joya is impressive at first but after a while you smell the problem with their sewage system. A lingering smell of toilet wafts through the air frequently. You smell it in your room, you smell it in the dining area, you smell it near the sauna and steam room. It makes you not want to be around and so we went to town more than we had planned.
We wanted to have a relaxing time and there are many nice things about this place but the smell ruined it for us. I never saw this issue in any other review. When we mentioned it to the manager he said, "It's an issue with building on a hill." I've been to other hillside residences and resorts and didn't have to smell the toilet every 30 minutes and think this is an issue they don't want to spend money to fix and so us, the paying guests have to endure a very unpleasant smell. If I would have known about this before I wouldn't have stayed here.
Beautiful quiet hotel - great for a peaceful retreat or alone time. Quick 10 minute taxi ride in to town. Be sure to get on their What's App group when you arrive for important info.
Great place to stay, good vibes, amazing views and food, the chef make all the food organic and in house and everything is really good.
Beach access.
Great and communicate staff, highly recommended this place.

We had amazing time at La Joya. The place is absolutely stunning. It felt like private retreat. We enjoyed all the amenities like infinity pool, sauna, steam room and cold plunge. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely come back
We LOVED staying at La Joya Sayulita! It was absolutely stunning and the food in the restaurant was amazing! Luca and Oscar were so warm and welcoming, and were always available to answer any questions that we may have had including all our transportation needs. To top it all off, after leaving the resort for the second part of our vacation in Punta de Mita, the driver (Rosalito) discovered we had left our phone in the back seat after returning and got it to Luca, who tracked us down and had it back in our hands the next day! We were so thankful and will absolutely be returning to La Joya Sayulita
I loved my stay at La Joya! The property is gorgeous and has the best views of sunset! (I also loved the sunrise). My room was beautiful and the entire staff took care of me from before I arrived and until I departed. I loved being just outside of town, so I could find peace and stillness as I fell asleep with the sounds of the ocean and a gorgeous view. I cannot wait to come back!
