Conventioneers.

We chose this hotel as a convention site while visiting the Steamtown site. The access to convention meeting rooms was the worst since our organization was founded 60 years ago. We could not set up displays after we all booked our rooms. When we set up displays the management locked members out of the display and meeting rooms. Staff members doing food service were great but that couldn't cover for the failed attitude for management of convention space. This is not the way to treat historical societies who visit Steamtown ... The failure of convention support will spread to other historical societies as many of us hold additional memberships in groups that would be your customers. You need to change convention management to properly host historical society meetings in the future... If ever!

I love everything about this hotel except for the strong weird smell in my room. Not sure what it is but its very unpleasant even after running the fan and a/c. Otherwise would stay here again as everything seems clean and in good order, and the facility in an old train station is really special and the main reason for staying here. The dining here is a bit expensive but I'm paying for the convenience of not going out after driving all day.

What a unique and impressive hotel. It was straight of The Gilded Age TV series! Excllent service in the Trax Bar & Grill and an extraordinary breakfast in the Carmen Restaurant with superb service by David, our waiter. I would give it 10 stars!

I enjoy the unique property and have stayed several times. The Trax restaurant is really good with many options on the menu. Room is clean. One disappointment is there is not a treadmill in the fitness center, so I was unable to stay with my routine. I will likely choose a different facility in the future for that reason.

Radisson Lackawana is a beautiful renovation of a classic large railway station. They have kept and meticulously maintain the vintage murals, marble, wood and details. A lazy breakfast in the main hall featured a soaring ceiling, white linen, excellent food and thoughtful service. The rooms are beautiful with comfortable bedding and a great shower. The cherry on the top was a surprise 'Festival Italia' right across the street on labor day weekend, which was larger and better than our feast of St. Anthony in Boston with 70 vendors and a live 12 piece band. The one night stopover became a highlight of our trip to Virginia, and at about half the price of comparable in a large city, a bargain. We will make a point of staying on our next stopover.

It’s a beautiful building. The rooms are very nice. There’s three places to eat in the building. The problem is the fine dining restaurant is only open on weekends. The bar/ grill was the only place to eat open. I really wanted a decent meal not bar food. I doubt there will be breakfast. Very disappointed.

Recommended downtown Scranton

Superb hotel downtown Scranton. Parking $5per day which is a bit off. Beautiful lobby and resturant in converted railway station and railway head office. Nice rooms but was striking was how friendly all the staff were. Reception, bar,room cleaners. Really welcoming.
