Let's start with the good. I checked in on 2/15. The girl at the front desk was friendly, accomodating, and helpful! I loved my room. Keep in mind it's an old brick building, but this hotel has kept it up beautifully. Good continental breakfast. And the location is great in regards to getting around to a lot if the main sights. The bad: the doorbell! Now since there are sone unsavory characters in dowtown Seattle it is understandable that a hotel would take precautions. But last night, the front desk was checking someone in, I rang the bell and she asked me for my room number and name twice. There was someone else at the front desk who could gave helped, but didn't. When she finally let me in, a few moments later she asked for my name again. Now this would not have been such a big deal if she had been a little nicer anout it. I realize you're trying to keep things safe, but think how safe I felt waiting a couple minutes to be allowed in, when I had already encountered some characters outside. I noticed the hotel across the street has a sca ner at the door so all hotel guests do is swipe their card to get in. It seemed a lot quicker and easier than this method. This should be implemented at the Best Western. When I went to explore yesterday I got to the elevator, thinking I was by myself, only to hear someone start talking to me...from the floor in the hallway! Turns out he was with housekeeping, but decided to lay down in the middle of the hallway first and browse his phone.
