My wife and I picked Hotel FIVE Downtown for a week getaway in Seattle. The pictures looked cute and the location was good. Let me list some pros and cons...
Pros:
*) Fantastic for walking to "tourist stuff" in downtown Seattle. Pikes Market is a 10m walk, Space Needle is a 10m walk, etc.
*) The staff, especially the front desk, was outstanding! Super friendly, very responsive, and took care of us.
Cons: (This is a long list)
*) Do you like the monorail? Fantastic, since it runs right outside your room and you can very much hear it!
*) Are you a people person? Good for you - there's a lot of homeless right below your window, and wow do they like to party late into the night!
*) Looking to "get away from technology"? You're in luck, since the TVs don't work in amusing ways...the one in the bedroom didn't do "Live TV" (no signal), but the one in the livingroom did...it just switched over to "Chromecast" every 15 minutes. If you were hoping Chromecast actually works, well, guess again.
*) Feeling "rustic"? This is for you...the furniture and cabinetry has been ridden hard and put away wet. Every "seam" in the veneer/laminate is starting to peel, the sofa cushion has a distinctive "this had a big rip and we sewed it up with some black thread" marks. The room has been living a rough life.
*) Enjoy donating to a cause? The nightly "resort fee" covers things like free-to-use bicycles (great in the notoriously sunny Seattle weather).
There are better choices.
