No Ghosts, (Or staff), at Christmas
We stayed on Christmas Night. Alone in a deserted hotel on the misty banks of the Yorkshire Derwent. The continental breakfast was adequate but unimaginative - we don't eat sticky buns for breakfast. As this is a very old Coaching House we'd hoped for a minimum of ghosts but were disappointed

Very friendly and relaxed environment. The quality of the breakfast and service was spot on. We stayed in a cottage room, that was beautifully clean and comfortable, although was slightly dated in decor and no USB charge points. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay.

we found the hotel and staff very good food top rate. We are not hotel visitors I did find it strange that I had no one to contact during the evening but it did not deter my recommendation for the hotel.

Located in the Yorkshire countryside and the middle of beautiful fields, 30 minutes driver from York city centre. The hotel building, staffs, our room and the breakfast are amazing. I'd recommend staying here rather than the busy and expensive city centre.

Lovely relaxed stay
The staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. The hotel was lovely and clean. The food was excellent with a varied menu. The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxing. The only out of place thing was a stain on the carpet of one of the three rooms we had booked.
