Either new or newly renovated. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Great and convenient location. Liked the full size fridge. We did have a couple of issues with the battery door lock almost dying, and bathroom door wouldn’t open from the inside so we had to be careful about closing it all the way. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Wonderful Lodge

Huge, well equipped, modern room. Immaculate. Rooms have no air conditioning and a fan would be a welcome addition. Very convenient location to both Exit Glacier and Seward.

The room was new - so that was a plus. With a new room, there should have been a punchlist process with the contractor. If there was, they would have identified that the exhaust fan did not work. When you flip the switch to turn it on....no exhaust. So, showered with the door open a few inches to mitigate steam build up in the bathroom. Also, on a punchlist side, there was some ice build up in the freezer. There is a water leak somewhere which is creating ice forming on the freezer bottom. Relative to the kitchen appointment: There were 4 bowls, mugs, plates. However, there was only 1 teaspoon, 1 tablespoon, 1 dinner fork, 1 salad fork, but alas, there were 4 knives. Don't know what is with the scarcity of the tableware. Relative to suggestions for amenities: suggest adding tissues for the bathroom and paper towels in the kitchen, as there were none. Also, the 2 small bottles of combo shampoo/conditioner was laughable. Thank goodness I had my own stuff. Housekeeping: saw 3 young women leaving the room in the late afternoon with a cart. Upon entering the room thereafter, only 1 of the 2 beds was made, and the only thing done aside from making the 1 bed was emptying the trash in the kitchen and bathroom. Oh, they took a newly opened soap that was on the soap dish (that had been used the night before in the AM but had plenty of life left) and put a new wrapped one there, but didn't clean the soap dish. Youth or not trained - don't know which.

Lovin’ on Spruce Lodge

We loved Spruce Lodge. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Lodge is a little out of town so really quiet. Lodge provided a convenient shuttle service to and from town but it was not free. Coffee shop had good drinks but I would pass on the other items. There was a good eatery right across the street for dinner. We would gladly visit Spruce Lodge again.

the self check in and check out were nice and very easy to follow. the lodge has a very lovely look and feeling to it. the rooms are very spacious and accommodating to all abilities (not handicap accessible on top floor, but very much on main floor). nice kitchenette with full size fridge, microwave, sink, and dinnerware. it was a beautiful stay

It’s new! It’s shiny! It’s not fully functional…. The room was warm, thermostat did not respond to trying to adjust making sleeping uncomfortable. The gas fireplace never worked. The tv remote barely worked and only if standing one foot from the tv. Barely any kitchen supplies. Nice bathroom with large shower. Comfortable bed. Nice table sitting area. For $350 a night, it’s a big disappoint overall for that exorbitant amount. We’ve stayed at many other lesser expensive places nearby that did a lot better at providing an actual functional room with more amenities provided to the guest.

Really good place to stay. Good rate and really clean. Had a coffee maker with enough coffee. A little funky on the seating (kitchen area was kind of it). Door locks/app are a little annoying.

Spruce Lodge is off the beaten path, quiet, and secluded. It was clean and the property well-maintained. There was adequate parking but no elevator to the second floor. It is a great rental for visiting Seward, Alaska!

I booked this place a few hours before check in, it was such a smooth easy process. They message you the access code and room number. The room was very clean and cozy. Electric fireplace is a nice touch, the TV is a-lot bigger than most places have and the shower is fancy. Will definitely be staying here next time I’m in Seward !
