We booked the hotel for its good rating and accessibility to Shanghai airport. On arrival which was before the official check-in, we already got a room and the receptionist, a young male went above and beyond to help us with transportation to central Shanghai. The hotel isn't very well connected to public transport. It's either 10 minutes by taxi to a metro station or 35 minutes by taxi to central.
Also, the hotel doesn't show up on the map if you order a DiDi, the equivalent to UBER. Downloading a Chinese keyboard on the phone made it possible.
The room itself was spacious but unfortunately the AC didn't manage to warm it up at all and it was freezing in Shanghai that day and night.
For breakfast which was included, a range of dumplings, white and black rice porridge, eggs in a variety, noodles, vegetables and cereals are available. Nothing to write home about it and okay. Wifi was bad and we couldn't do any research.
The free airport shuttle bus leaves every hour at 6.05am, 7.05am, etc and takes roughly 30 minutes to Terminal 1. Unfortunately, the receptionist was the complete opposite to our welcoming experience the day before.
All in all it was okay, however, due to the bad connectivity to central Shanghai, we wouldn't stay there again.
